Firstly, thanks so much for continuing edcast. You and I have been in contact via email but I thought these questions may be handy in future for others, so asking publicly would be beneficial.
I installed "edcast_standalone_3.26.2011.1014.exe" on my computer and it works a treat. I’m especially interested in playing with aacPlus encoding (HE-AAC).
As a means of putting this on a spare PC I have, I copied all the extra dll’s (mp3/aac+) to a folder, then zipped it with the installer. After unzipping, installing and copying the extra encoders to the edcast directory, Edcast standalone on this other PC does not display aacPlus (HE-AAC) as an encoding option. I’ve taken a screenshot: http://ow.ly/i/kfrx and this includes a visual of the files in the Edcast directory.
What am I missing?
Exactly the same files worked on this machine, but no aacPlus on the other…
October 31, 2011 at 4:52 am #12720radiorioMemberdepending on the age of enc_aacplus.dll you may also need nscrt.dll
better still – get winamp 5.61 (http://www.filehippo.com/download_winam … elog/9484/) – install it (somewhere other than winamp if you already have the latest one) … and copy it’s enc_aacplus.dll
November 1, 2011 at 9:59 pm #12721AnonymousGuestAny chance to have even if is a beta for all Shoutcast V2 dnas users ???
ThanksNovember 2, 2011 at 5:33 am #12722AnonymousGuest[quote author=”radiorio”]depending on the age of enc_aacplus.dll you may also need nscrt.dll

That did it.
I had an old version of enc_aacplus.dll dated from 2006. The version from winamp 5.61 install works a treat. Thanks for your assistance.

DNAS v2 will be supported in edcast v4 – which will be called something else, as it is a 90% rewrite – it possibly wont do as much as shoutcast DSP v2 (I read talk of album art in the near future) – but it will work with DNAS v2I’ve written a DNAS clone, which I can connect to in either v1 or v2 mode, so I know the ins and outs – I just have to convert that knowledge 180 degrees to sourcing DNAS v2 rather than emulating it 😉

[quote author=”radiorio”]it is a 90% rewrite[/quote]cool, can’t wait to see how organized the code is this time around.
[quote author=”radiorio”]sourcing DNAS v2 rather than emulating it 😉[/quote]i have some fun stories to tell you some time.

[quote author=”JesseG”]i have some fun stories to tell you some time.[/quote]you have my attention!November 9, 2011 at 6:44 pm #12726FabbbioParticipantI tryed to install the last winamp…copy all dll (like suggested) to edcast standalone (3.3510..)directory but I can’t see del AAC+ in the stream configuration windows
dsp_edcastfh.dll
enc_fhgaac.dll
nsutil.dll
libmp4v2.dllNovember 9, 2011 at 6:56 pm #12727BokiMemberyou can write milion times…
November 9, 2011 at 7:28 pm #12728FabbbioParticipantI don’t understand?
I try also all dsp_edcastfh.dll enc_fhgaac.dll in BB directory like DSP-plugin but I can’t see AAC support
November 9, 2011 at 8:29 pm #12729BokiMemberEdcast Standalone http://users.tpg.com.au/rioradio/edcast … 1.1026.exe
and aac dll http://www.uploadking.com/UV9P1KHZ1MNovember 9, 2011 at 8:54 pm #12730radiorioMemberstandalone does NOT support winamp fraunhofer aac+
enc_fhgaac.dll has dependancies on nsutil.dll and libmp4v2.dll – so those 3 dll’s would need to be copied to the install dir
However, those 3 dll’s have a dependancy on mscvr90.dll – easy enough to get by installing vc2008 redistributable, right? Well, no … for some reason it doesn’t always work. It does for 2 of my computers, but not a 3rd.
dsp_edcastfh will use fraunhofer aac in winamp – but no guarantees that it will work outside of winamp – again – this msvcr90.dll dependancy is to blame – you need nsutil and libmp4v2 either in folder where your application executable is, or in a folder pointed to by a %PATH% entry, and enc_fhgaac.dll in the folder you have dsp_edcastfh.dll – look at how those files are installed in winamp if you don’t understand what I just said
i.e.
in program fileswinamp folder, where winamp.exe is, you have nsutil.dll and libmp4v2.dll
in program fileswinampplugins folder, you have dsp_edcastfh.dll and enc_fhgaac.dllDisclaimer: I am not advocating the use of winamp dll’s outside of winamp. The fact that they MAY work is a result of how windows does things. enc_fhgaac.dll is licensed to AOL, and as such, should not be used outside of AOL products. As dsp_edcastfh.dll is made for winamp, there is no issue with it using the Fraunhoffer aac dll
There – I think I covered my ass
November 14, 2011 at 12:14 am #12731rdrMemberHi,
I’m using the lastest Edcast version (3.33),and following this manual (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1533) but I can’t find this:
quote :Go to My Computer, and browse to C:Program FilesBreakawayBroadcastPlugins. You should see dsp_edcast_v3_1.cfg. Right-click this file, choose Open With, and click your way through until you can select Notepad.You need to change a few settings inside the file:
Code:
LameCBRFlag=1
LameStrictISO=0
LameDisableReservior=0
LameQuality=0
LAMEPreset=12I can’t see the "dsp_edcast_v3_1.cfg." archive.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
November 14, 2011 at 1:25 am #12732radiorioMemberTwo questions:
Which version of windows are you running?
Can you find dsp_edcast_v3_0.cfg?
November 14, 2011 at 3:43 am #12733JesseGMemberAssuming you already have EdCast running in Breakaway… have you also created an mp3 encoder in EdCast yet?
