    Hi lpy!

Vac 3.x does not support Kernel Streaming — it is a native Wave driver.

If you look in the drop-down to the left of the sound card name, where it currently says KS.. Select Wave instead, and you will see Vac in the list.

Yes, the 16 kHz bandwidth is a brick-wall lowpass. However, this is actually a good thing even for webcasting, because frequencies higher than 16 KHz are usually encoded with lower resolution, and would cause more overshoots, which would cause distortion in the decoder when you start with a tightly controlled, processed signal like what Breakaway FM generates.

Excellent, I got it worked out.

I still don’t like the idea of being forced to use a 16khz lowpass for webcasting, but I understand how it’s essential for FM to not disturb the 19k pilot. Although I’m streaming at 128k, it’s the same kinda *trick* you know for streaming at 96k but sounding better than the average 96k stream. So, the frequency range is higher than most 128k streams, which gives that little extra crisp treble.

I’m liking this version, but there’s too much stuff that isn’t needed for webcasting. Personally I think the only extra settings the web version would need is 15us Pre-emphasis, Phase scrambler and L/R Ref Level.

Great work. Looking forward to the web version 🙂
