i think there’s a bug on simplecast’s WM9 codecs/encoders .
after some hours the last band ( the highest frequencies ..simple..stop existing)

lol , maiby it’s time for 128 kbps… , it’s time for money..money money.

After hours and hours…
i think i made the windows media codec to work correctly.

windows media codec 9.2 is buggy.
in order to have high frequencies 100% you have to be at least at 128 kbps 44 stereo, OR 32 kbps 32 stereo(more compressed but with high frequencies!!!)
so, i switched to 128 and it’s time to take 10 GBps bandwidth servers.
to bad for my money..🙁

so, please , hear it now,
it is 128 kbps , 44100KHz , stereo,
Breakaway latest version with , bass efx, tornado, surround and high density overdrive for FM loudness with 75 preemfasis …deemfasized for streaming..

so, make a last try,
it;s time to go to bed 🙁((( i know i know..i m funnyy…
give a try :

Are you chaining more than one phase tornado together? (it REALLY sounds bad) Anyways… other than the phase tornado crap, it sounds like your audio is lacking in high frequencies. Of course it’s skipping like crazy right now too.

And whoever said it’s not possible that he had 42,000 tune ins (not the same as CUME)… hasn’t been around net radio for long.

When I worked at radioio we had a bunch of industry firsts, and one of them was over 10 MILLION CUME (unique listeners) in one month. And a majority of them tuned in more than once in that month. That’s millions of unique people per day.

The radioio website farm was also serving over 80 million page views per day back then, from only 7 machines. 🙂 Hand optimized by "Rock", the guy who invented PHP.

MORE than 42000 unique IP addresses on the Windows Media Servies machine per day. that’s right 🙂

I am broadcasting now at 128 kbps WMA 9.2

time : 15:36 gmt+2 saturtday
i changed the bass shape becuse of zooming of distortion of bad recordings…
i changed also the overdrives. , i ve got clearer deeper bass and highs 🙂

Monday will be a very very very hard test day for me.. 🙁
bandwidth..cpu…who knows..
I will disable fast buffering start (on WMS) definately..becuse of bandwidth spikes!!

thanks a lot everyone.

i want loudness and i made it ..at FM .
We are broadcasting at 71 KHz and we are by far the loudest ..thank’s to Leif!!!

I agree that your Windows Media Stream is the loudest I’ve ever heard, but loudness isn’t everything. It sounds like something is wrong — BBP simply doesn’t sound like this, unless you intentionally crank both bass boost and clip drive way too high.

FM FM FM FM…..broadcast.
that’s the difference from the others. ( except some ..)

I will make the sound softer at Monday , now i m changing a server.
My stream will be offline for some hours.
( that’s why it stops after 5 seconds..)

Thanks everyone,

Leif, you are the most tweaked brain in the programming world 🙂)))

Camclone, I wasn’t listening to your FM broadcast. I was listening to your web stream.

There’s no excuse for imposing the limitations of FM on a web stream.. Not when a separate audio processor for the web stream is $199.

it’s 5:19 gmt+2 afternoon.

I think i made it!!

Softest , sweetest and loudeeeeest than ever!
pseudo-dynamics = ok
clear saxophones = ok

even at songs with low bitrate and high density overdrive recordings it sounds clear ,

breakaway is something like re-mastering and clearing somethimes bad recorded songs! ,

amaaazing software.

now my stream is online and it’s exactly the same as on FM broadcast …without pilot and rds…and..tits..

..oupss..sorry, tilts…i mean.. ( funny guy,, ha…_!)

check for 10 minutes or more to be sure for ..bad recorded sogs.

What it really does is makes all of the transients sound like LASERs. It was only created to allow people to listen to one of the main aspects of a "particular 31-band processor" which makes that processor sound like TOTAL CRAP.

If you like it, you don’t have proper listening experience and/or gear (or massive hearing damage). Don’t believe me, try it out for your self. Chain 10 of them together…. That LASER sound is still on EVERYTHING, just lower density and maybe you can’t hear it, but MANY people can – plain as day. In fact the better listeners people are, the more easily they consciously hear it. But just because a listener isn’t consciously aware of something, doesn’t mean they don’t hear it. And doesn’t mean they won’t like listening to your stream because of that, even if they don’t know why.

Wow! People are actually buying processors that sound like that? It took me a little bit to notice but now it has left a bad aftertaste and makes me want to puke. It really is awful. It does indeed sound a bit like a laser blast from a space movie tacked on to every transient. Best to stay away after playing with it.

Stuart, hopefully not all that many, but these guys are GOOD at marketing.

Do a google search for 31 band spectral processor if you want to know who I’m referring to. It’s not really spectral (as in FFT), they’re using IIR filters (non phase linear) — that’s the reason why the phase response is so completely out of whack. Of course, their marketing department spins it around to make it a GOOD thing 😉. If I had their marketing department, I’d be rich.

Your stream is very loud. The loudness and distortion makes it sound like a lower bit rate stream…than what it actually is.

Something sounds overdriven. Low and mid distortion. I’m unfamiliar with the music…but it seems to be on both songs I’ve just heard. My two cents from my two ears.

The encoding quality is better than before, but the audio still sounds AWFUL.

Seriously, you should be comparing the cleanliness of the sound to Reference Heavy or at least Plutonium, not distorted off-the-air stations. Just because they’re deaf doesn’t mean your station has to sound bad.

To my ears, Plutonium is as loud as things can go without making (to me) unacceptable sacrifices. It’s not a coincidence that Plutonium is clean and relatively loud at the default settings — I deliberately tuned it this way! It’s also not a coincidence that it’s the default preset in BBP.

Look at the oscilloscope, for crying out loud. Even if you ears aren’t hearing that it’s distorted, how can you not see it?? 😯

Leif…It seems like some people just like to hear the sound of their own voices.
