I asume if I have a four channel ASIO card, I can get 18ms MPX output on chan 1 (and on 2), and the studio 8ms output on channel 3 & 4.?

    Yes!

When can I get a beta to test? I’m so curious

😳 Oops. My mistake. I believe that you wants to try the current beta… Obviously is not a new beta for test now…

Hey Leif 😉 I am still living too! Does the new version also reduce CPU capacity more? Or does it not make any difference with the previous version?

I don’t know if i am going to upgrade to the new version, because it’s 100 dollars and it reduces the sound quality a bit. Of course the latency is lower, but for my nonstop music server it doesn’t matter what the latency is.

For my live pc it does matter, but i guess it’s better to use breakaway live instead of BBP then? I have no live shows at the moment, but i am planning to do this in the future when my station is running legaly.

    Hey Cybo,

Indeed, if you don’t need low latency, don’t get BBP ASIO!

Also, it’s not really an upgrade — it’s a different product. To be an upgrade, BBP ASIO would have to support all features that BBP does.. It doesn’t! BBP ASIO cannot use standard sound devices other than for the RDS/SYNC input — it only supports ASIO drivers.

BBP ASIO *does* however have the full-latency maximum quality back-end from standard BBP as well, so that you can get that on the air while enjoying ultra low latency monitoring, with a single sound card, and single program. To accomplish this, it actually runs TWO completely separate breakaway cores internally.. One in phase linear mode (100ms latency just for the crossovers) for air, and one in low latency mode for the studio output!

BBP -> BBP ASIO was NOT an easy code change to make, I guarantee it. Those 4 letters took an incredible amount of time. 🙂

    Best,

Ok, that clears some stuff up! I was forgotten i wrote something in this topic hahaha.

I maybe have plans to buy BBP ASIO and a ESI @july soundcard, both for my "live pc". But that is for next year i suppose, first want to save some money again.
