How embarrassing…
I’ve solved the issue that I have written about a number of times in this thread, specifically that each time I start my Win7 64-bit machine I have to run a Test in Breakaway 1.3x.x to get clear (as opposed to seriously garbled) sound.
😳 🙄
Er… I had two different drivers installed for my sound card! My notebook has integrated audio from Intel and I had both an HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP driver installed AND an IDT Audio driver installed. I unintstalled the IDT Audio Driver, rebooted, re-ran Breakaway’s setup wizard, rebooted and all is well 😀
I lay bare my embarrassment in hopes that others may benefit… (though it appears that I’m the only one who ever had this issue, so…) 😉
September 23, 2010 at 8:18 pm #5070AnonymousGuestI’ve a small issue with this latest version 1.30.02 that I’m running in WinXP SP3.
If I select ‘Hard Bypass’ on the context menu (in order to play ZDoom!!!) and then untick the option after I’ve finished, Breakaway just hangs.
I have to kill the 2 processes from task manager and then restart it.Any thoughts?

Apart from being transparent, it also now supports 64-bit Windows.
Please let me know how it works. Looking forward to official 1.3 release!

October 27, 2013 at 4:11 am #5072LocksterMemberI just downloaded the latest 1.3.02 and the new toolbar is great in WIN8.1 64bit but the presets did not load proper, they are all the same, all settings are smack on in the middle, what happened? Help!!!
November 27, 2013 at 4:31 pm #5073alloutnowParticipantHi. A while back I installed Breakaway 1.3 on my Windows 7 HP laptop and had the similar problems with the audio as previously posted. I had to run the wizard every time I rebooted or started my laptop up in order for the Breakaway plugin to work. If I didn't there would be terrible hissing coming from the speakers.
So, I have not used it for awhile because of these issues. Have they been resolved or has further development been halted on this great, great product?
I'm really hoping to be able to use this great plugin again.
Thanks,
G.

Sad! Oh well…

Other than being all about the bleeding edge, any reason a 32 bit xp user would benefit? Any other changes?

Could you please detail what steps you took to research and attempt to fix similar to the fix that was discovered above?March 6, 2015 at 1:33 am #5078Death_MasterMemberCan you please optimize it for Win8.1×64 so it would not shatter sound on load?
That would be really nice for me ^_^April 9, 2015 at 9:20 pm #5079GuntherMMember[quote author=Death_Master link=topic=849.msg18171#msg18171 date=1425605623]
