In order to get the best sound out of earlier generation digital boxes, I found the Ariane was highly necessary to get them to a point where there was any song-to-song consistency. Early digital AGC’s were a mess.
I’ve only used the analog Ariane. Although I’m sure you would be impressed with either their analog or digital offering.
….and you, my friend, should be very proud of BBP…and especially challenger…I can’t imagine how much work went into it.
August 10, 2009 at 6:35 pm #7860AnonymousGuestWhat’s the recommended upgrading procedure for (a registered) BBP ASIO? Remove previous version first, or just install over the existing version? I’m running 0.90.78 now.
August 11, 2009 at 9:55 am #7861LeifKeymasterSfinx, just install the new one on top.

August 23, 2009 at 12:01 pm #7865Joop KrauthausenMemberHello Leif,
unfortunately i have to let you know about a problem in 0.90.80.
We got it up and running for a week.. with no errors.. then yesterday the processor got the flu.
the audio came out like riding a bumpy road. Turning up the buffer to "huge" buffer worked for one day. Then it started over again.
processor load was under 30% , the memory usage was 10% no other programs on the pc running besides the OS.resetting the pc fixed it. (temporarily i think)
winxp 2002 sp2
dual core proc. 2.2Ghz
4Gb mem.

August 24, 2009 at 7:28 am #7867LeifKeymasterHi Joop!
I’m sorry you’re having trouble with it, but it does sound like a hardware or driver problem of some sort. The machine should be plenty good enough to run BBP though.
What else are you running on the computer?
I’m wondering, because 4gb ram is what I use in my development workstation, where I routinely run 20 programs at once, so it makes me wonder 🙂.
Best,

Hey Leif,
I’ll drop a screenshot here.. this is whats running.
strange thing … we have bought the computer for BBP, and it ran the demo’s since version -.49 and we didn’t have a problem there.
The computer runs in a 19" cabinet.. cooled..We ran the demo of 0.90.77 without problems for weeks and weeks.. then we added the purchased key… and updated it to 0.90.80.
then we bumped in to this little problem..Voices inside my head (and of my colleagues) tel me to downgrade to .77 and wait for IT!
🙂cheers !
Joop
August 24, 2009 at 9:51 pm #7869LeifKeymasterPlease do. It’s very possible that there’s a new bug in 0.90.80, so if 0.90.77 worked better, please downgrade until I figure out what the problem is.
Best,
///LeifAugust 26, 2009 at 7:59 am #7870AnonymousGuesthi Leif, I think Joop Krauthausen right.
I also have a second problem for a week.September 3, 2009 at 1:22 pm #7871Joop KrauthausenMemberheya… the gods are with us…
still using 0.90.80 .. did not downgrade.. in stead i just rebooted and waited for something to happen. (and monitored the signal as much as possible)
We’ll the previously mentioned problems did not occur yet.. and its running for two weeks now.
maybe it was just a bit of bad luck back then…
greets..
Joop
September 5, 2009 at 12:22 am #7872AuBadgeMemberHas anyone else experienced the Stereo Enhancer just quit working in BA Live? The display either shows no bars, or the bars are not moving. When it happens, I have to go into "I/O Configuration" and back out again. It starts working again agter that. I’ve noticed it a few times in the past couple of days.
September 5, 2009 at 6:03 pm #7873LeifKeymasterWhich version are you running AuBadge?
