The thing that really tics me off is the fact that i can buy the Alpha card for €180.- in my home town (Netherlands) .. and when i drive 10 Km to the east..(Germany) i buy them for €139.-
    So.. guess..

    on another topic ..
Strange enough i never see user ratings regarding the dc-straight specs , or the fact that its very good for soft-processing.
Is Leifs software that secret ?

    kind regards,

Heh, I know! Last time I visited Twente I flew to Düsseldorf. Even including the EXTRA flight from Düsseldorf to Amsterdam, it still came out cheaper than if I would have gotten off at Schiphol. Taxes, so much fun.

Well, if you consider the fact that no software processor before mine has had Tilt Compensation, even though 99% of sound cards need it.. I think they just don’t know. I mean, who connects oscilloscopes to their sound card outputs, besides us?

True, our requirements from soundcards are quite a unique useage of the 192Khz capability and a tiny portion of the market, a proportion so small that most of the soundcard manufacurers are not aware of this useage. Also the engineering required to make a soundcard with a clean output, a flat response to 80+Khz, and DC straight thru, without using filters or capacitors (which is what is creates the tilt) is very difficult and not cheap.
This is why there are very few cards out there which do not require tilt compensation at a consumer price point. Hopefully over time this will change but its unlikely for a while until the market begins to demand this in great numbers but for the majority of users, this is simply not an issue.
