Camclone:
Heh heh 🙂. Yeah, that’s what I thought when I heard it too.
I still don’t have a PM from you with the settings though.
George:
Indeed. It’s a very difficult case. Hopefully I can think of a solution. 🙂

Leif !! i think that my stream now has more treble than ever and even more clear deep bass ,
i disabled the transition width and slope…. i was using this "special" feature of breakaway for a temporary occation becuse of a bad link connection ( 1,7 GHz backup link ..had some overshoots and i was loosing loudness to be 75 KHz..)
now that i ve replaced the bad microwave links there is no reason to use the TRANSITION WIDTH AND SLOPE.
..my modulation is full of all kinds of sound frequencies now 🙂)more treble
more bass
more mid!
100..modulation all the time! ( without mpx clipping)
i will send u my settings tomorrow when i write them on a notepad
i realy thank you!that challenger stereo enhancer does en excellent job IF you find the "numbers" for cleaning the extra stereo image.
i am sure that i ve streched all of your code a lot ::)))
check my stream now.

http://1045fm.live24.gr/1045fm/
it’s cleaner ( but be a little tittle tittle…patient , check 3 to 4 songs becuse of bad recordings ..)p.s. even at bad recordings with these settings and rustonium preset ( not 50 50 50….505050505050..)
….breakaway R E G E N E R A T E S the distorted songs! that’s a magic that other FM sound proccesors CANNOT DO. other processors make the distorted songs ..even more distorted! 🙂 breakaway regognises the distorted songs and regenerates 🙂 i cannot believe in my ears at some songs of 80s and 90s.. greek songs..thanks!
August 21, 2009 at 7:33 am #8144LeifKeymasterAh! Transition Width / Slope are specifically for rolling off treble, that would explain it 🙂.
Treble is much better, but I still hear the same bass distortion problem though.
When listening for distortion, it’s not a good idea to stay tuned to the same stream for 3-4 songs as the ears then start to get used to the distortion (at first) and then get tired of listening (a little later). If checking 3-4 songs due to varying source material, the trick is to listen for a short while, then stop the stream, and tune in again 3 minutes later.

August 21, 2009 at 9:05 am #8145GeorgeMemberCamclone, now it’s better now but you still need more treble on your webstream.
Your sound is full with bass and the treble seems like muted from 8K and above.
Bass comes distrored when tracks with ultra-low bass (below 60Hz) is onair.I had smilar problem and the solution was to decrease the "Bass Cut" between -6 to -10
with the "bass shape" at -20.
This will increase also your overall volume and BBP will keep your bass clean from distrotion.Ahhh…this time I hear a song from a popular greek artist (mazonakis) at 12:00.
The bass is extremely distotion at 60hz and without treble…sorry man but your stream seems
like 32kbps at 32000Khz !
The ITU meter shows a very loud sound that comes from….bass 😕I think the best way for your FM transmition and webstream is a second instance of BBP.
I can’t hear your FM sound here but I think could be easy to keep the same good results at the
same time for FM and webstream.Regards,
G.August 21, 2009 at 10:40 am #8146LeifKeymasterNo need for separate web processing yet, bass distortion + lack of treble does not sound any better on FM than it does on the web. FM exciters and tuners do not magically clean up distortion from bad audio processing, even though certain audio processing manufacturers seem to hope they do.

August 21, 2009 at 11:17 am #8147GeorgeMemberJust for separate pre-emphasis settings Lief.
Should be nice at the upcoming release of BBP to have the option on each output of BBP for a pre-emphasis selection/adjustment.I think with this way camclone using one instanse of BBP and with the same settings on it will get better treble at the stream as the main use of BBP here is for FM boradcasting.
Sure, this is not a solution if the sound comes in distortion on pre-emphasis state.

I’m worried that he might back off the processing on the web stream and leave the FM sounding distorted. It’s better to keep them the same until the FM sound is done 🙂.quote :Should be nice at the upcoming release of BBP to have the option on each output of BBP for a pre-emphasis selection/adjustment.That’s actually not possible. Pre-emphasis must be done before the clipper, and the clipper is by far the most cpu-consuming processing element of BBP. To have separate options, we’d need separate clippers, and CPU usage would double or triple. It’s easier to just keep the instances completely separate — that way we can also set different settings.
