They are truly amazing (ly bad) numbers, especially for the Realtek, which is a very common chip in thousands of computer boards. I get 11% for the Pipeline and 5% for the Realtek output, both using DS.
As a last reort, have you tried uninstalling – re-installing Breakaway and all of its components?
uninstalled breakaway and reinstalled to no avail.
the pipeline i can not uninstall. there is no uninstaller and it does not show up in the add/remove programs in windows and eve Revo unistaller can not find any uninstaller nor can it even see the pipeline to uninstall.
as for using DS, that can not be used on the input, only KS is available. DS and WAV input settings show no audio device.Sometimes, to uninstall the Pipeline, you need to go into Device Manager and remove the actual Pipeline (after you have run the regular uninstall). It seems to have a service which needs to be unloaded manually.
ok, i’m back.
got the Behringer driver out, finally got the A&H mixer to be seen by Windows drivers. that brought the numbers down significantly (5-10 in 0-5 out)
i can get the input that low IF i max out the buffer size to 2048 and 3 buffers.
the output gets fluctuating 0-5% with 3 buffers at 882.
now another odd thing
my second computer is the exact same computer (bought together)
that gives me 0 in and 0 out with 3 882 buffers on each.
weird right?
same computer, same configuration, same settings as far as i can see.
any thoughts on where i could look or does fluctuating jitter not an issue anymore?thanks to everyone trying to help, it is very much appreciated.
Glad to hear that you have made some progress. WHat happens if you just run the BAE wizard now and let it figure out the best buffer size? Sometimes, you can get too hung up on trying to manually tweak the parameters. So long as you can’t hear any artefacts like crackling in the background, a bit of jitter is normal. If you go overboard with large buffers, you will have problems with lip-synching with your karaoke videos because BAE will fill the buffers before doing any processing.
My son and I both have identical laptops, yet his settings are slightly different from mine. I assume its a firmware or chip revision thing, but I’ve never really looked into it.
when i let BAE wizard do it’s thing is when i get the worst numbers. it gives me 3 441 buffers in and 3 4 buffers out and the jitter is through the roof.
i have everything set to not convert to 48000 (it’s 99% mp3 so just avoiding an extra conversion for nothing)so both in and out are 44100. it’s just killing me how i need massive input buffer even when using test tone.
as for syncing, my hosting software allows me to adjust the lyric sync to compensate for the gigantic buffer, but it seems to me (unless i am mistaken which is possible) that NEEDING the buffer to be that massive shows there is an issue somewhere in the mix. that was the reason i went to the pipeline to see if there was anything i could adjust there
