With good cable for MPX i can notice difference between 1,5m cable and 10m cable…
For 30m cable should be really good, best you can find.

Personally I like Mogami. For the price (quite affordable) they have the lowest capacitive inductance measurements I’ve seen, beating esoteric cables costing many (many) times more.

we used a 75 meters of mpx cable ( microphone cable ) so yours should’nt be a problem 😉

balanced audio? but my transmitter dont have balance input!

#12505

It is ALWAYS best to keep the mpx-cable as SHORT as possible. Shorter=Better
Why don’t you put your PC at the transmittersite and go there with digital audio?

well at the transmitter side, we used also a cable with a xlr plug at one side and a other one at the transmitter cant remember the name of it, but it was a turnable plug like u need to turn it to plug it in 😉

The thing to be concerned about with audio converters is jitter. I personally wouldn’t trust a device like that, without knowing it was using dual reclocking, and had actual measurements of distortion caused by jitter.

you right jesseG.
then…the best solution is a good 30mts mpx cable or send digital audio signal from studio to pc with bbp close to transmitter, or send balance audio from studio to pc with bbp close to transmitter???
or send digital audio signal from studio to pc with bbp close to transmitter
Yes if your audio is already digital 😉
or send balance audio from studio to pc with bbp close to transmitter
Yes if your audio is analog 😆

Best is to put bbp as close to transmitter as possible. There is no need to make the audio digital however if the rest of the chain is analog.
Unless…. you have a A/D converter that is better than the one used on your soundcard

At least, that’s my opinion and you asked Jesse, so let’s wait and see 😀

I agree with what you said, saved me the typing, and I can’t argue with a sane proposal. =)

For digital->digital just be aware of jitter. Best to test the two cards together with the length of cable you’ll need before you spend the time running the cable.

If I HAD to do an MPX run of this kind of length (which I would try to avoid if possible) I would use a high grade satellite cable (double copper screen) such as WB100 or similar, this should be easy to obtain locally and resonably priced.

Hope this helps,
Yorkie.
