Hello to all. Sorry for the bad English (translation by Google 🙂).
Over the years I have been able to try several of these programs, from Octimax a VolumeLogic, from SoundSolution to this last BreakawayFM. Well: even true that ears and tastes run in a totally subjective, I can not hear the sound that you can listen here http://radioseven.se I realize that this is such a speech quite simplistic and each study by itself systems to create a type of sound, but in substance as that sounds webradio I really like and I would understand if only enough skill in knowing how to do the right settings means at its disposal. A matter of settings? Equipment? My ears strange? What are your views on this?
Thank you!
Peace be with you. 🙂November 9, 2008 at 3:27 am #5836LeifKeymasterHi Dax!
RadioSeven uses an older algorithm (equivalent to Volume Logic), it’s about three generations behind now. Breakaway FM sounds significant cleaner at the same loudness level.
Nevertheless, I’ve listened to R7 and set up my own 128k MP3 stream with Breakaway FM to compare.
Try the following settings:
Plutonium – 15us Pre-emphasis + De-emphasis
Final Drive: -1.5dB
Range: 50
Power: 65
Speed: 55
Bass Cut: -10
Bass Shape: 0This is very close to their sound, except BaFM has cleaner transients and less IM distortion 🙂.
Best regards,
///LeifNovember 9, 2008 at 7:23 pm #5837daxMemberHi Leif! Mega thanks for your availability. 🙂
Double gosh!! 😀
One, because your settings suggested playing just fine!
Second, because it is also true that a good ability in knowing how to touch the settings! 😐 😉
But if I can add something about the sound of R7, I think that is more … spatialisation … plus stereo … I do not know if I give a good idea. 😕
What do you think?
Again, thank you.
My respects,
DaxNovember 10, 2008 at 7:28 am #5838LeifKeymasterHi Dax!
I know exactly what you mean.
Breakaway FM does not have a stereo enhancer — but it does have plug-in support!
So, you can load any stereo enhancer you like. If you use the Winamp DSP->VST wrapper, you can even load VST plug-ins, such as Spartacus.

///Leif[/quote]Hi Lief,
thanks for your great work. 😉 It’s possible obtain same (or similar) result with Breakaway Web? Some tips? Plutonium preset will be available, for the Breakaway Web, in the future?
Bye
November 11, 2008 at 12:19 pm #5840LeifKeymasterHi Luk!
Yes, Plutonium will be in Breakaway Web. It won’t be as loud as Breakaway FM can be, but it will be louder and cleaner than any of my previous processors (including Volume Logic, OctiMax).

Hi Leif (and sorry for my bad english),I’m trying to obtain a result comparable to R7, with Breakaway (personal), for my Web-Radio (Disco, Funk, Pop).
This is my actual settings:Oldies
Volume: 0,00 dB
Range: 75
Power: 69
Speed: 72
Bass Cut: -24
Bass Shape: +12In your opinion, are correct values?
If you want, can I post my streaming URL, for a direct verifiication? Please, give me some tips to emulate R7 like sound.
Bye, thanks.

Breakaway Personal isn’t for webcasting. That’s why the price tag is so ridiculously low!
I recommend you wait for Breakaway Live — it will have the plutonium preset, and webcasting will be fully supported.

Thx Leif, for the reply. When will be available, Breakway Live? How much will cost? It will be possible to upgrade from the personal version?Bye 🙂
November 15, 2008 at 4:13 am #5845LeifKeymasterHi Luk!
I will make it as soon as Breakaway Broadcast is done. It’ll cost $129, and of course we can make you a good upgrade deal. 🙂

The Live version of Breakaway will have the 15/25us Pre-emphasis + De-emphasis, for the live streaming? Thx a lot.Bye.
November 18, 2008 at 12:22 pm #5847LeifKeymasterHi Luk!
No, the live version will not have the Clipper back-end at all – it will have the cpu-efficient look-ahead limiters, like in Breakaway Personal.
If you want the 15 / 25us pre-emphasis, Breakaway Broadcast is the way to go, and it’s available Now. 🙂

Leif thanks, tomorrow I will try the software on my PC (unfortunately mounts an old athlon 3200 xp) and if it works in a reasonable speed, I will make the upgrade. How much me will cost the upgrade from personal version to the Broadcast?Bye
November 20, 2008 at 8:01 am #5849LeifKeymasterLuK,
Breakaway Personal and Breakaway Broadcast aren’t really comparable products, but because you’re a loyal customer, I’ll PM you a $15 discount coupon for BBP, and you’ll get to keep your BAP license too, so you’ll have both 🙂.
