Howdy!
Here’s a new version with some preset improvements:

http://www.ceaudio.com/beta/breakaway_b … .90.87.exe
Updates:
All-new "Twente" preset – modified version of Plutonium with more steady compression (good for old vinyl) and much more bass kick!
Rock preset updated – better bass kick
Quintessence preset updated: more high-end and deeper bass kick
Enjoy, and let me know how you like it!
Best regards,
///LeifOctober 5, 2009 at 1:13 pm #8499didacParticipantThanks Leif! π
Later I try!
October 5, 2009 at 7:37 pm #8500drshaneMemberLeif,
It seems to me you took bass out of the Rock preset! I liked that one because of the little extra low end there was in it π It’s too bright either way, but I could deal with thatβ¦edit
I put the Bass-EFX plugin back in my system and it feels better now… So I can live with it.October 5, 2009 at 11:58 pm #8501camcloneMemberThat g@@@@@d d@@@ammm MPX clipper ..? when?
Your competitor Stereotool has made it …with mpx clipping.Leif, You are the best BUT please add a simple simple simple simple MPX clipper.
Not the advanced low distortion MPX clipper which..you ll make hardware..but a simple MPX clipper.πplzzzzzzzz
October 6, 2009 at 7:06 am #8502LeifKeymasterCertain processors have overshoots from the L/R section, and need composite clipping as a band-aid to reach the full theoretical 92% loudness (with 8% pilot). This type of composite clipping adds distortion, but if the designers were unable to deal with these overshoots any other way, this is the route usually taken.
Breakaway doesn’t have these overshoots, thus a traditional composite clipper has nothing to do except carving further into the waveform, adding a lot of distortion in audio that was previously distortion-free. There is nothing to gain from this. (according to Greg Ogonowski himself. For once, I agree with him.) Breakaway is already providing the full 92% loudness, same as every other FM processor, even those with composite clippers.
My own composite clipper is different, allowing 150% loudness in 100% modulation, unlike any other processor. That’s the one I’m saving for the hardware unit. You can stop asking, I’m not selling it for $299 π.

(Jair Paiva Neves – RJ – Brasil)October 6, 2009 at 8:10 pm #8504AnonymousGuestSome people have heard somewhere MPX clipper and then think that your processor is not good enough because it is missing. maybe you can create a button that you turn the drive on 3 db. If you want clipping, you can get clipping
October 6, 2009 at 8:51 pm #8505LeifKeymasterThagurt, that’s already there — turn final drive up 3dB π.

October 7, 2009 at 1:22 am #8506bummMemberlief. I do not want a processor in hardware, like software, in my country is very difficult to import these processors, if you do it in software is much easier. not deprive us of that level of processor, although it is good enough,
October 7, 2009 at 1:25 am #8507bummMemberpremium processor could do with another value in software and hardware with clear specifications.
πOctober 7, 2009 at 6:34 am #8508LeifKeymasterI understand what you mean — the problem is that no matter how inexpensive and good value the product, there’s always people who steal it instead of paying the little money asked. Thus, I have to think very carefully for every feature I put in — can I live with this being stolen and uncontrollably copied? For the composite clipper, the answer to this question is no — it must not happen.
Don’t worry, I’m not depriving anyone of anything — the software versions will continue to exist even after the hardware comes out! In fact, the hardware will not even be called Breakaway — I’m using this name for software only.

October 7, 2009 at 7:03 am #8509AnonymousGuestOkay that’s clear I think? Leif, but you’ll support the people with a hardware box personally?
For example on this forum? And the hardware box is running your software right? So noone software else?
What about configurating this hardware box? Will it be configurable through internet or only via LAN?
And what about the GUI for the configuration tool? Will it look like the breakaway software?By the way: what about translate the Breakaway software in a few other languages?
Example people can load their language file in breakaway, result: breakaway is totally in their language?
Only you need is some people who can translate all the text in breakaway to the specific language and make a option to load this translation file.
Like Airomate has π example about a few languages: Dutch, German, Italian, France etc.Hopefully you’ll answer these questions.
Thank you in advance!October 7, 2009 at 8:43 am #8510LeifKeymasterHi SDF!
In the beginning I will personally support the hardware box. As more people learn how to use it, I will be able to hand support over to them, so that i can focus on development.
The software will be done only by me, yes π. There will definitely be a support forum, away from this forum.
TCP/IP control? Of course!
Dayparting? Of course.
Full control? Hell yes.
IP-STL? Oh yes.
Stream encoding? Absolutely!
Full-colour display? You’d better believe it!The gui will have some things common with Breakaway, but not completely.
Languages? I understand this is important for some people, but I have no chance of doing it. Airomate has only a few features, it’s possible to translate everything, but for me personally, It’s better to spend the time improving the audio.
Vriendelijke groeten,
Leif Claesson(Also in Twente today, in Haaksbergen! If you PM me your phone number maybe I can come visit this morning π

Okay, I can life with that;) No problem… was just a suggestion π
I’m really looking forward to meet you, but unfortunately I’m at my work now, so don’t have the time yet. π
Maybe if you stay this weekend (or whenever) in Twente, you can let me know where you are (example: at a radiopirate?) Just like you did last weekend? You could also visit me… no problem ofcourse!
I know you’ve got a small FM transmitter for your own, so I don’t have to get a transmitter at this side? If you would like to visit me…you’re more than welcome here so, don’t worry π
I’ll PM you mine mobile phone number, so you can contact me if you want πVriendelijke groeten,
SDFOctober 7, 2009 at 9:31 am #8512LeifKeymasterAfraid not — I’m flying out this afternoon, back to Thailand. It’s been a 3-month trip — crazy!
I’ll be back in Twente for new years though — see you then! π
