Member1. First: I love this piece of software! 😀
2. Second: I am about to order. 😉
3. Third: Before I can do so I have some questions about the licence… 🙄I am in the middle of starting up something new. That means that the machines I use now are no ‘keepers’ and will be replaced in a couple of months. Can I simply install Breakaway Broadcast on the new machines or do I need to apply for, for example, a new key?
Can I install Breakaway Broadcast on my on-air PC and the demo on the Backup so that when the on-air PC crashes I can register the demo with the same key?
Basically what I would like to know is if the restrictions is that only 1 Breakaway PC is allowed to be ‘up and running’ (but another one can be shutdown but on standby) or is the key locked to a specific PC?

ParticipantYou will be able to use your registration key a second time when you change machine BUT, this is only allowed once, and it must not be used if the other machine still has Breakaway registered and running. This is basically a courtesy, one off machine upgrade allowance.
Hope this helps,
Yorkie.

MemberThank you, yes that is part of the answer I was looking for.
How about a re-install on the same PC after a fresh OS install?
Is that also allowed once?August 20, 2010 at 11:47 pm #11293timmywa
ParticipantI think all you’re talking about is good. You can always have one live instance running and registered. It’s not machine specific. You can have a backup that’s not activated (demo mode). But the system will not let you activate any more than one instance or installation at a time.
Jesse, confirm?
Thanks.

That is fine and is indeed the answer I am looking for as far as a backup is concerned.
Now I only need to now if a reinstall of the OS (and Breakaway) on the same machine is an issue…Jesse?

MemberI’m not sure exactly what the keys are currently tied to on a specific machine, but it might be possible without even requesting a new key.
This is a question for the official support though. 🙂
the support email (aka keith) should really be put on the main website. not to mention the new versions of the software. hmm…. 😐
