I use the Marian Trace Alpha which i know has straight DC output.I emailed Lynx to check if there cards were.this is the response i received:
According to our chief hardware engineer (and co-owner), the LynxTWO cards and the Aurora converter are DC coupled .
Maybe Jessie or Leif can chime in since they have tested the cards.I think there is a difference between DC straight and DC coupled. Thanks

💡 They both mean the same thing.August 18, 2010 at 1:38 pm #11272Q106MemberThanks Jessie.Maybe leif might want to show the Lynxtwo card is straight DC on his list of tested cards.Even though it’s more expensive that the Trace Alpha, some stations may already have this card in their arsenal.Case in point,i know someone that modded a M-audio when they had extra LynxTwo cards.Could have saved that expense .

Could have had a lot better quality than M-Audio too. 😉August 19, 2010 at 4:02 am #11274RodeoJackMemberquote :Could have had a lot better quality than M-Audio too. What’s wrong with a modded M-Audio card? The mod sheet would lead one to believe it was the next best thing to a straight wire… or a Marian Trace ????? ❓

M-Audio. 😆I mean, nah, you know, nothing against M-Audio but even for budget priced stuff there’s better stuff out there. Linx is in another category completely tho.
August 19, 2010 at 9:05 am #11276RodeoJackMemberHmmmmm… Guess I’ll have to see what I’m missing. I set up 4 computers with M-Audios… modded all of ’em. Gonna be a real heartbreak if I wind up putting those cards on the shelf after all that cutting & soldering! 😥
August 19, 2010 at 10:00 am #11277JesseGMemberUsually a use for something that’s at least functional tho. Even for bartering or eBaying. Maybe selling to other Breakawayers 🙂
Everyone who is in pursuit of quality eventually upgrades something or other from whatever their first functional setup is.
August 19, 2010 at 5:40 pm #11278Q106MemberJesse, you may want to put the worms back in the can;-)..Leif had high praise for the modded m-192..Of course there is a large price difference between it and the Lynxtwo. So we’re back to the Marian Trace Alpha as the best buy in a DC straight card unless further discovery is made.

Looking good on paper (when the info is worth anything) isn’t everything.M-Audio is certainly functional. And yes, when anyone upgrades, it’s nice is there can still be a good use for something. That’s what I meant, not "toss out your stuff". 😉
