Hi,
I have a core2duo 2.4 GHz with 1 Gb 800 mhz memory.
I have OTSAV, Airomate, Edcast.
My soundcard is a ESI Juli@.
When i use the directwire is must set the breakaway input, rds and output to 192khz.
But when i scan the HDD for new files it cracle.
When i upgrade the pc to a core2quad 2.66 ghz and 2 GB memory, helps this? When i use the breakaway pipeline the frequenti for the input is now 44.1 khz and the rds and out is 192 khz everything is fine.
Must i upgrade to a core2quad and more memory?
Anton

http://docs.otslabs.com/OtsAV/help/using_otsav/audio_output_features/how_to_calibrate_your_soundcard.htmAugust 18, 2010 at 1:55 am #11263JesseGMemberAlso make sure OtsAV isn’t above "Normal" priority in the task manager.
If crackles still continue you can also check your DPC latency, to make sure that isn’t spiking when you’re scanning for files. You can also possibly tweak the PCI Latency for your IDE/SATA controller if you’re using XP.

OtsAV has always the highest priority in the task manager.
I have mailed to Ots but they said that this automaticly has the highest priority.
I have only the crackles when is use the directwire from ESI. When i use the pipeline everyting is ok when i’m scanning for new files.August 19, 2010 at 10:07 am #11265Dr.JMemberSounds like a driver issue with directwire from ESI. See if they have any updated drivers or a possible solution to your problem.
August 21, 2010 at 9:53 pm #11266antonlamersMemberSo an upgrade to a core2quad 2.66 ghz and 2 GB memory, doesn’t help?
August 22, 2010 at 6:51 am #11267Dr.JMemberI don’t think upgrading the processor or RAM will make any difference. For example, I had an M-Audio soundcard (*see edit below) that wouldn’t work with ASIO and OtsAV – crackles when opening search window, etc. – and this was on a quad core with 4 GB of RAM. It was a driver issue that is still unresolved – no updated drivers are available.
*Edited ’cause I made an error. It was my Echo Audio soundcards (Mia, MiaMidi & Mona) that were having problems. The M-Audio soundcards (AudioPhile 24/96 & Fast Track Pro) I’ve used have worked flawlessly. My bad!

Just as a side step, I’ll suggest trying some older drivers. Here’s some that I’ve had "luck" with for Delta-based cards…
Especially the .5029, 36, and 42. I’m not sure if the 29 was ever offered for download or on CD, as I got it from M-Audio directly. But see if any of them from that "era" work out. When I was at radioio, we used delta-based cards for routing (before IP audio) and even with 200 of "the same" machines, each machine that was "funky" was in its own "special" way.
I know quite a bit more about working out the kinks in a Windows multimedia setup now then I did then though. It would have been cool to figure out back then, but… ah well.
August 25, 2010 at 4:04 am #11269Dr.JMemberThanks for the info Jesse. I’ve edited my post above because I mistakenly mixed up my driver problems with my Echo Audio soundcards with my innocent M-Audio soundcards. My bad, but thanks for again for the info.

I was going to challenge that, as I also had problems with Echo, but kept my mouth shut.
