I’m going to ask a dumb question. Is it necessary to record it after it’s processed? If you’ll be playing it back through breakaway, you wouldn’t want it preprocessed. Perhaps your intent is to burn it to an audio cd or something.

    good luck Bryan.

    Hi Bryan!

The easiest answer, for now, is to record from the sound card’s "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" input. In Windows XP you can select this input by opening the volume control, Options/Properties, choose your sound card for the Mixer device, and choose Recording.

You can then use any recording app to record whatever is going out through your sound card, including the music processed by Breakaway.

Hey just came across this topic and i was interested in recording the processed audio to enhance some of my music collection. I’m using Audacity also and at first kept getting errors. After changing the Audio I/O settings around and nothing working, I checked my Sound control panel settings and found that the Stereo Mix device under the Recording tab was disabled. After enabling it, it became selectable in Audacity’s preferences and ultimately allowed the recording of the processed/"heard" audio. I don’t know if this is the solution to anyone else situation but just thought I’d put it out there.

    P.s. BREAKAWAY IS AWESOME!!!!!.. 😀
