    Leif:

I have just installed the Breakaway audio broadcast software for a 1 kw am in Westminster, Maryland. I am happy with it, but I have several questions.

    1. What is the difference between the juli@ 1,2 and the Breakaway pipelines? I am currently bringing in the audio on the juli@ 1 input and sending the processed audio out on the Breakaway pipeline1. Is the the best way to do this?

    2. I had one instance after restart where the asio drivers did not load, but the did finally show up on the input/output window. Is there a way to make this the default setting?

    We are running xp.

    Thank you,

The pipelines are just virtual soundcards that you can use to "bounce" audio through, but don’t actually input/output from/to any actual soundcards.

So it’s correct that you’ll want to use the Juli@ for output, and the input will be from Juli@ if you’re wanting to run the inputs directly into Breakaway…

As far as startup issue… I guess that could be possible if the Juli@ drivers rely on having the mixer/etc loaded for the driver to function fully. Some soundcards are like that, I saw a Behringer someone had a while ago that was like that.

It might be possible to delay the loading of Breakaway by 10 seconds or so, on purpose… if you can find some software that can do that. I would bet someone has created that for this purpose before. 8) Let us know if you find such a software in your searching.

    Hi,
Before we can fully help you, one important question..
Is your 1KW station FM or AM?

The difference between the Juli@ 1,2 and the Breakaway pipelines is that the Juli@ I/O is a physical I/O whereas the Breakaway pipelines are virtual I/O although most soundcards have virtual I/O to some degree.

Can’t help much with ASIO issues I’m afraid, my knowledge is limited with ASIO and my knowledge of the BBP ASIO is Nil as I only use the "normal" version.
There are sure to be plenty coming forth soon with help for this issue.

    Yorkie.
