    Dear sirs,
I want to use my PC, as stand alone unit with Asio version.
(from studio to FM exciter without link)
    so
my pc is with cure duo 2.8 GHz
and my sound card is EMU 0404 USB
    Is this compination ok ?

Do i need a second sound card for audio input (from the studio) ?
If yes, what sound card (192Khz ?)
If No, do I have to use the same card (emu0404) for input and output audio ?

This setup is fine, there is a thread on here from a few months ago giving instructions how tho set up 0404 to act as input and output card, it needs to be done exactly right to work.
If yo chose to use a different card for input it does not need to be 192khz, 48 will be fine but just remeber the better quality card you use, the better output you will have.

    What is better ?

1 use emu 0404 for input and output audio ?
    or
2 to use the O/B sound card for input audio ?

    ps
I am talking only for the ASIO VERSION

Most onboard soundcards do not have a good audio input. You will often find they have a very poor signal/noise ratio and also the input level is very hard to get right, with a very low and noisy input but then if you increase the level only a little you will start to get very dramatic clipping.
The input on the 0404 will be very good quality. I’d use that myself.

You can’t use multiple soundcards with the ASIO version, can you?

I’m not sure about that Jesse as I only ever use the non-ASIO version myself. Thinking about it, probably not..
