Would anyone care to talk about how their mics that are processed/compressed before the go into BPP sound like on air? Does anyone have any samples? if thats allowed I would like to hear what they sound like.

In my limited experience, bbp sounds best when you skip the mic processor altogether, using just a preamp.

Although there are some cases with multiple mics where you can at least benefit from some basic compression on each mic, to keep everyone around the same loudness on-air. And I’ll never argue with a well adjusted gate (preferably a smooth downward expander) on each mic, to reduce studio noise.

We use a downward expander set to eliminate some room noise and a 2:1 ratio…about 10db MAX compression…not a lot, relatively speaking.
