    Hello All,

I just installed the Broadcast Processor for evaluation, here at work and at home for my Low Power AM Gig. The install went smootly at work on a Dell running XP and following the Readme notes, the configuration went nicely as well. The processor sound very nice.

Now for the problem, I installed the same software at home on my IBM/Lenovo R61 laptop that I use to run the station. Install as above went smoothly, and I configured the same way. However, when I try to start the software I get the error message suggesting the card is in use or the sample rates are wrong. I selected 44.1 for both in and out. Restated the pc, nothing seems to work Any ideas?

    Thanks, John

The soundcard probably really is in use by some software you may or may not even uses the soundcard all the time. Such as something running in the system tray. Sometimes they can give feedback through sounds (like when a drive is finished defragging, or a cd is done burning, etc)

Try closing everything in your system tray. Then re-try Breakaway.

If not, then open your task manager and start closing things that are not "standard" windows processes. You might have to look up the ones you don’t recognize as being standard processes on the web to see what they are. Then re-try Breakaway.

If all else fails and you don’t mind a bit of added latency, you can always try DirectSound (DS) or MME (Wave), which don’t require sole access of the soundcard device.

    Hey druidhillsradio,

I’ve seen you on the Tampa board of Radio-Info. Do you live here in Tampa?

    Adam
