I recently gave Breakaway Audio Enhancer(BAE) a go. I uninstalled the program and rebooted, but something odd has happened. My default audio device seems to be a lot louder. Previously(Before BAE) I’d have to have the volume on iTunes up full and then the windows volume up well over half way. But now I have the iTunes volume up one third of the way, and the windows volume up three quarters of the way towards the half way mark. And it’s at quite loud.

It’s funny because previously I’d often have issues trying to get enough volume, now I have too much.

Also, I don’t know if this is relevant but, when trying BAE, I also had issues getting enough volume. I switched the speaker back to default device, BAE still operated and the volume was much louder.

Any information on what’s happening here would be great. Also is there a way to calibrate the audio level or something? I am not very educated in these matters.

    Thanks!
