New release – 0.90.93
Contains a new version of Breakaway Pipeline, with much improved stability when using multiple cables!
For anyone who has had problems with cables suddenly going out of sync and slowing down, please try this release.
BBP ASIO 0.90.93
BBP 0.90.93
BA LIVE 0.90.93Other than the pipeline, the only change is that the explorer toolbar (BBP only) now looks better in Windows 7, but it’s an interim solution — I will completely redesign the toolbar at some point in the not too distant future.
Best,
///LeifDecember 7, 2009 at 1:31 am #9043GeorgeMemberHi Leif!
Good to have a new release to solve this problem !!!
Except this case with the pipelines, this release solves also the issue with the digital in (coaxial/optical) of the Soundcard+BBP?
Seems to be a common problem of lost sync also to my setup with digital in-out of BBP.Problem reduced 99% if I select analog input on soundcard ! 🙄
(Emu0404 pci, ESI Juli@, ESI Maya44e, Asus Xonar D2)Regards,

The links of ASIO and standard version are exchanged 😆

George, I have not been able to reproduce this issue. Are you sure it’s not a sound-card related issue?

///LeifDecember 7, 2009 at 3:42 pm #9046GeorgeMemberHi Leif,
Same problem with 4 audiocards.
Configurations (OS: WinXP SP2, W2K3 SP1):
1) Digital Out from Emu (coaxial or optical) to a) Xonar, b) Esi Juli@, c) Esi Maya44e
With 0.90.69 the only card that works perfect was Xonar !
With 0.90.92 all the above cards had the same effect…..2) Digital Out from mixer (coaxial), the sound comes to mixer analog from Emu again.
With 0.90.69 the only card that works perfect was Xonar again…
With 0.90.92 all the above cards had the same effect…..All the above cards works OK (no clicks-pops or lost sync) if receive the sound analog
from Emu or from the mixer.I’ve sent you a detailed PM at 3 Dec regarding this problem and the configurations of PC’s….
We had the opportunity to reproduce this issue on 5 different hardware configurations (Home PC’s and Servers).
The only that we do last two weeks was tests, tests, tests of BBP 0.90.92…..
Sometimes, when we go to sleep we still hearing this clicks-pops

George-JohnDecember 8, 2009 at 1:20 am #9047LeifKeymasterOh man.. Now I remember, I did get your PM. I received it as I was checking e-mail right before going to bed after a very long day, and didn’t have a chance to deal with it at the time — and in the morning I forgot about it. My apologies — it’s been a stressful few days for me, finishing up a few urgent projects to be able to clear my schedule before the second part of my vacation, which includes a friend flying here from the Netherlands today, and another Swedish friend (who already lives in Thailand), going on a 2-week road trip 🙂.
When I get back home I will test with digital i/o. However, the thing is that from an audio app’s point of view, there is no difference at all between digital i/o and analog i/o. The sound card handles all of that internally — the audio app does not even have a way to know whether the actual i/o is analog or digital. Thus, my gut feeling is that it must be a different problem — but what? I’ve tried for weeks and have yet to be able to reproduce any problems at all, and I’ve been long-term testing on 5 different computers, just letting it run for days and weeks.
I’ll keep trying..

December 9, 2009 at 1:30 am #9048lpy7MemberHey Leif, still using Breakaway Live v0.90.82, and it works fine – but I’m wondering what this bug could be, and if it’s worth upgrading to the current version…
I’ve discovered there’s a bug that basically stops everything from working after 49.7 days (1193 hours). I’m using VAC 3.12 (because I’ve found it to be more stable) instead of the Breakaway Pipeline, so I think that’s the cause of it. Rebooting every 49.7 days isn’t a big deal, but I’m wondering what you think of this bug.
Cheers.
December 9, 2009 at 4:19 am #9049lpy7MemberHmmm seems I’m not the only one: http://www.google.com.au/#hl=en&q=49.7+ … aabfa6a492
Although, it seems to affect Windows 95/98 machines, but I’m using XP 😕
December 9, 2009 at 6:35 am #9050LeifKeymaster49.7 days is how long it takes a 32-bit millisecond counter to wrap around. As far as I know, nothing in Breakaway is susceptible to this, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it.
It could potentially be VAC 3.12. The very latest Breakaway version contains a new, much improved version of Breakaway Pipeline — please try it, and let me know in 49.7 days 🙂.
Best,
///LeifDecember 9, 2009 at 10:53 am #9051lpy7MemberThanks Leif, you’re probably right. With the new version I think I’m hearing the occasional crackle; Kernel Streaming just doesn’t wanna work properly on that computer for some reason. I have the buffers and everything cranked up too. Guess it’s back to 3.12 with the 49.7 day bug, which isn’t too bad.. it could be worse. At least I know how long I have before it crashes 🙂 Thanks anyway.
Edit: BA Live froze 😕 … I knew i shoulda stuck with 0.90.82. Hopefully it will go back to normal when I go back.
December 9, 2009 at 1:55 pm #9052AnonymousGuestYeah! finally i can stream again with BBP.. Without problems.
Thanks Leif for the upgrade!

December 12, 2009 at 11:25 pm #9053AnonymousGuesthowdy life. is their a work around to stream using sam broadcaster without using vac or your livelink pluggin? my problem is getting the processed sound through the encoders on sam. i can hear the processed audio in the q and airout but when i listen to the stream i just hear normal audio. i’ve asked this question before here but i’m still getting stuck. i’ve followed the instructions on how to do this. it seems to be either a problem with livelink or sams encoder however, i cannot see how the processed audio won’t go through sams encoders. i’m using the latest non-public version. thanks.
December 13, 2009 at 2:06 am #9054LeifKeymasterCould you post screen shots of your configuration screens?
///LeifDecember 13, 2009 at 8:17 am #9055JonasParticipantHave you changed the source in the encoders window from "audio pipeline" to the soundcard/breakaway pipeline that has the processed L/R-audio?
