Hi guys!
I’m currently working on proper Windows 7 / Vista WaveRT kernel streaming support for Breakaway, and it’s coming along nicely.
However, before then, I’ve still fixed several issues in Breakaway and added a few features.
This will not be the last beta, but if you want to try the current one, here it is:http://bredband.leif.cx/browse/bae
Child Process Not Responding error FIXED, i think
Standby crash bug FIXED
NEW: FM Mode
NEW: Plutonium Preset
NEW: Eruption PresetThe WaveRT kernel streaming support is mid development and is not part of this beta, but will be in the next.

October 30, 2009 at 7:33 pm #4931timmywaParticipantA couple requests… 1: Can you explain the FM mode feature and its settings? and 2:If the preset doesn’t already include it, can you provide the same checkbox to enable or disable NR that’s in Live and BBP?
Thanks.
AWESOME, by the way!!! Thanks.

But it’s good to know that we are close to a new update release. 🙂
Thank you Leif !I hope that the "Magnifying Glass" preset is not removed !? ❓
I have tried the trial version of BA Life and noticed, that this preset does not exist (anymore ? so was it removed ?) in BA Life. Please keep "Magnifying Glass" in BA Enhancer.
What of the newer (Live) presets comes close to "Magnifying Glass" ?
Is it "Twente" ?
Will it ("Twente") be a new preset (or replacement for "Magnifying Glass") in the next BAE major update release ?October 31, 2009 at 1:11 am #4933LeifKeymasterHi Timmy!
FM Mode is a low latency low cpu (but still oversampled and with advanced distortion cancelling) pre-emphasis clipper + de-emphasis. It’s designed to be used with small FM transmitters such as this one:
Or, bigger models in use at Drive-In theaters, christmas light displays etc.
With a decent transmitter, you can actually get close to broadcast quality this way. It’s a nice convenience feature — FM mode only takes 30% cpu on my atom n280-based netbook, leaving enough cpu to play movies as well. It’s a nice way of plugging in to a sound system without wires, whether you’re in a hotel room, at a friend’s house or in a car!
FM mode helps the signal stay within the physical limits of the FM medium, and at no extra cost. Broken S-sounds and distorted hihats are a thing of the past.
FM mode is not a replacement for Breakaway Broadcast, as the output is standard L/R de-emphasised audio. Thus, you must have external pre-emphasis and stereo generator, which all consumer transmitters have, but high-performance transmitters do not, as you cannot achieve perfect peak control this way.

If i load the Breakaway toolbar i got this error.
But it does load fine.I’m running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.
BTW: You did a fine job. The install file is about 1 Mb smaller then version 1.20.12…
October 31, 2009 at 4:22 pm #4936LeifKeymasterYes, I haven’t gotten to the toolbar yet. 🙂
