I'm a big fan of breakaway DJ but its no longer available to download (even via my account)
Does breakaway one work the same as the DJ version? can i configure two channels to work separately as I could before?
February 16, 2017 at 6:12 am #14807MilkyKeymasterYes it does (use the HD option). Because it is the fully optioned "Pro" version, it comes with a lot more options than BADJ, but you can set up two "cores" and configure each one separately. Set it up on the trial version (it installs to a different folder). It is fully functional, but you will get a drop-in voice over every now and then until you license it.
February 21, 2017 at 9:59 am #14808chillyMemberWow! A great processor now with so many different options and settings that it's almost impossible to set up!
So as a test I just wanted to set it up to process the sound on my PC… like the old audio enhancer used to do.
The best i got it was the sound was doubled up and because there are a million settings I'm not sure which one is set wrong.
February 21, 2017 at 9:11 pm #14809MilkyKeymasterTrue, but "less is more" seems to be apt here. It sounds like you made the same mistake I did at first – defining speaker output as well as "card" output. This will create two (almost) parallel circuits, so you will hear a slight over-dub.
I'm limited in the number of screenshots I can fit on each post, so I'll create a couple of separate replies. The following string of images are of my setup with an M-Audio Delta 192 audio card, which has native ASIO.

November 30, 2017 at 8:51 pm #14813ColinW62MemberHi Milky
I'm struggling to follow this. Like Chilly I'm trying to get BA One working like BA DJ, ie process 2 stereo outputs independently that will appear on 2 faders on the mixer/DJ Controller. I think BA DJ achieved this through being 2 BA processors in one.
If I understand BA One correctly it can be set up to process 2 outputs independently – ie 2 different radio stations. So I'm guessing it can be set up to process the 2 outputs from the controller in a similar way. Is this what you have done with BA One? If so can you help please with a simpler step by step?

But… you can install ASIO4ALL virtual ASIO to Kernel Streaming interface… which can work with the Breakaway Pipeline virtual soundcards, to route audio from your music software's ASIO output, into BreakawayOne via Kernel Streaming, and then you would use BreakawayOne to output to your actual soundcard with ASIO. Which other than a little bit of added latency, will accomplish what you want to do.
That being said… I haven't found a situation yet where the results aren't more consistent and listenable by just processing the mix after the master output of the DJ mixer. If you are willing to test that method, just using the ASIO drivers of your mixer or soundcard… I think you'll agree. Not only does that require only 1x HD + 1x Low-latency in the license for it, but you'll be able to get even lower latency than you could have achieved with Breakaway DJ. (most likely somewhere between 25-50% less latency)
That, combined with how few copies of Breakaway DJ were sold (it's not even a 3-digit number), made it fairly easy to decide not to do the large amount of work required to give a 100% all-uses all-functionality upgrade path (vs 99.9%) for a very small group of customers.

For the guys who are interested.
Breakaway DJ still works on Windows 10 version 1803 (build 17134.285)
October 4, 2018 at 10:02 pm #14816MilkyKeymasterI actually have both BADJ and BA1 installed on the same W10 laptop. I used BADJ successfully until I explored all the available options in BA1, and I now use BA1 almost exclusively. I never used the two cores of BADJ, so it was easy to license one HD core and use it as the nucleus of my home entertainment system. I love the fact that BA1 will actually test all of the configurable ASIO buffer options and then recommend the best choice. Using that option, I have been able to get almost NO latency when playing music videos. As you know, DJ Buik, I use OtsAV, so I can adjust the video sync to match the audio, but it needs only a tiny adjustment.
February 27, 2019 at 7:01 am #14817WillieZParticipantHi Breakaway / OTSDJ users.
I haven't posted in a looong time in either forum…I'm currently still using Breakaway DJ with OTSAV.
Not long ago I had to rebuild my laptop/upgrade to W10 to sort a driver issue.
This also resulted in a new USB soundcard.Anyhow, I still use Breakaway DJ –
I route from OTSAV via Breakaway PipeLine 1 for Main output and Breakaway PipeLine 2 for CUE/other media playback.
These go into my Native Instruments Audio 6 and go to outputs 1/2(Main) and 3/4(Cue) respectfully.I've tried Breakaway One, using Milky's guide above, and got the main output working.
However, I cannot get it to use multiple outputs (ie more than 2)
Is there something I've missed in the setup of multi channel outputs?Regard,
