When installing new version of breakaway, windows 10 Home get error message "Unable to open breakaway pipeline audio transport driver. Breakaway cannot work without it. Please re-run installation program. Try to reinstall and get same error. Disabled all security programs before trying to install as administrator. Reinstalled version 1.3, works perfectly. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you
March 28, 2016 at 4:47 pm #5649DAndres109MemberI have this exact same issue on Windows 7 64-bit. I tried installing Breakaway in safe mode as well, but this did not help. Reinstalling 1.30.02 worked just fine.
March 28, 2016 at 4:55 pm #5650nrbqlouMemberI also have the same problem. Running Windows 10 64 bit.
March 28, 2016 at 9:40 pm #5651CaptainfirstMemberAnd this makes four of us. I'm not upset if the new version is just to fix compatibility issues as the now-previous version is running fine on my system. But if there are new features or new presets in the new, current version, I'd like to see this issue resolved if possible. I've been resisting the free upgrade to Windows 10 but if that's the only way to get an improved version, I'd take the upgrade gladly.

did you use the pipeline removal tool to remove the old pipeline version first?///Best

The alc1150 is Realtek chip also. Did you have the last version drivers? Some motherboard manufactures provide their own drivers for win10, like mine (Asrock Fatal1ty 970 Performance).///Best
March 29, 2016 at 1:44 pm #5657nikosl7MemberI tried to install it again today and it worked!
Have no idea why, since I did not do something different. 😛

What is the pipeline removal tool and where do I get it? I did uninstall the old version first, restarted computer and tried to install new version.

The pipeline removal tool is the uninstaller that runs during the 1.40.02 setup if you have a prior version installed.March 30, 2016 at 8:40 am #5661CaptainfirstMemberJust to let everyone know exactly what is going on; I am running Windows 7 64-bit. I ran the program to uninstall the Breakaway pipeline so that the new one could be installed. When the new one wouldn't install that left me with the old version not being able to open. So I did a system restore. I then attempted to install the new version without removing the old version of the pipeline with no change in the results.
March 30, 2016 at 5:40 pm #5662Dj BuikMemberfirst deinstall old Breakaway version. reboot pc and then install new version.
I think the old virtual cable (pipeline) must be completely gone, before the new can be installed.
