There are several issues. Is this the confirmed nail in the coffin feared by many but never confermed by one?Personally I still have the "internal exception occured (Address: 0x0), please contact support@oreans.com".
Weird thing is I tried a cracked version of BAE (yes I know it's wrong…) which in fact is totally unprotected (no more WinLicense junk, original executable code), and it works very well, even on an Atom tablet with Win10 Home 1511 (it worked with "Win 8.1 with Bing" too). I wish I could have such an "unprotected version" of Breakaway Live too, to have access to a proper equalizer…
Please Leif, do something, just tell us how to make it work on newer systems or give us some new exe…
EDIT: Interestingly, Breakaway Live 0.90.96b works on Windows 10 (Pro at least) 1511 64 bits… Doesn't work on 32 bits OS. What's the difference??
I've just encountered the same issue with Breakaway Live. It installs and runs fine on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. It will install on Windows 10 Pro 32-bit, but gives me that popup error. I think it has something to do with trying to write the ini file to the VirtualStore folder. I have other programs that won't run either on Windows 10. Something has to be modified in the program so the ini file will be placed in the correct folder.
Not sure if anyone knows how to fix this problem, as I am not a programmer, just an avid computer user.

[/quote]It is the software protection indeed. Some other software, like games, suffered from this bug as well, I looked how they fixed it and… all they did was to update the protection and then it worked. That's why I think it would be interesting that Leif made an upgrade too, because Breakaway is still sold, and shipped with this bug, so it doesn't only afffect long-term customers, it affects new customers too, and also those who try the demo first and see that it doesn't work… Too bad, one sell lost!
So is this software completely dead in the water? I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 (64-bit). After, launching breakaway broadcast processor, it wouldn't show on the screen or in the notification area. I would see it in task manager, but it didn't seem to be doing anything. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but the installer hangs on benchmarking the CPU. I tried to go into my App Data folder and run the breakaway.exe file, but that didn't work. Running as an Administrator or using compatibility settings (windows 7, etc) doesn't help. Is it time to finally ditch this software?
If anyone reading this post and somehow concerned about the future of Breakaway in newer versions of Windows could write a mail to the following address:

My version of this is Goodbye Windows 10, hello Windows7. I have had multiple issues with Windows 10 and not entirely sure any were a Breakaway problem. I am hoping Breakaway (DJ version is what I use) will be updated soon!
I've had 2 major crashes in the last month since upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Funny, Windows 8.1 worked just fine with BDJ for over a year! Now I'm 99.9% sure my crashes are being caused by Breakaway.
I hope Breakaway DJ comes out with a Windows 10 compatible update soon. After analyzing my crash report it definitely looks like Breakaway DJ (Audio Enhancer) IS causing the problem. Here's the report:
