Hi,
I am going to be putting a station on air, via an Auto DJ play out system in the near future, and wondered if anyone had developed any way of enhancing a source file , ie an MP3 to make it sound nice and processed, so I can do this to all the mp3’s before I upload them to the playout server. I have used MP3 Gain to make them all the same loudness, but they dont have that ‘punch’ about them.
Well, you can do this in 2 ways actually:
-Use a Sound Editing program, like Sony Soundforge (good compressing/limiting functionality in there), Cool Edit Pro or Adobe Audition.
-Use the Breakaway products in combination with a broadcastprogram (SAM Broadcaster, OTS etc.) or Winamp for example.
Be carefull if you use both options, because if you compress sound 2 times it can be overprocessed. And that means that it looses dynamics and sounds actually a bit awefull.
