i just recently switched to a 4k monitor and while windows scales most windows, BAE seems to be completely unaffected even when i try to manually set the high DPI settings on the executable

Have you installed the latest version? Some work was done on the latest release to improve the font readability.

I am sorry. I just discovered that two different links on the website offer two different versions. I have now notified the Webmaster.

On that same page you provided the link to, it states in the release notes:-
“Adjusted UI scaling on dropdown menus”

Yeah, 1.44 appears with gigantic 2×2 pixels on my 4k screen at 200% dpi scale, without changing any settings in the executable properties. It seems to be correct here. What is your DPI scale?

    i am using 150% scaling (4k monitor, windows 10)

I think the issue may be BAE might require integer scaling to work. Meaning 1.5x (150%) won’t have any visible effect. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong. Try 200% and see if it doesn’t change.

I don’t know why Windows defaults to 150% when using 4k. It’s clearly supposed to be 200% of a standard 1080p. I guess cause it assumes a 4K monitor is a TV, which always gets 150% scale, even when using 1080p.

150% scale is for 2560×1440 resolutions

I have an idea regarding this issue: since BAE seems to only be capable of integer scaling, would it be reasonable/ possible/ trivial to make the application “round up” to 2x scale if Windows’ DPI is at 150% rather than rounding down to 1x?

I don’t know how far along BAE2 is, but this seems like this could be a way to extend the life of BAE without redesigning or updating the GUI framework. Could you mark this as an issue for Leif since it seems like it could be fixed, @Milky?

I have passed your suggestions on.
