Now I do know that this isn't what Breakaway's supposed to do, but it creates another virtual audio device which might work with what I'm trying to do.
I was using VAC (Virtual Audio Cable) before, but once my new headphones arrived, for some reason it stopped working. I'm streaming while Skyping with a friend, who's then watching me play on the stream. What sucks about this is they can hear themselves. With VAC, I could make the streaming software (FFSplit) pick up sound from the virtual cable, while Skype sent everything directly to the headset. This was pretty cool, but it doesn't work anymore.
Is it possible to make Skype (or any other application) send the sound directly to the headset with Breakaway? I imagine it would be, but the sound is never played if I do that. Or, it doesn't really need to be the headset itself, but maybe another virtual device that gets the sound played without the Breakaway modifications?
An example:
All the sound from my PC goes through Breakaway, except Skype
Skype goes directly through the headphones, or a different virutal device
I make FFSplit only record sound from the "Line 1" device
Now, Skype wouldn't be heard on the stream which would solve my problem. I also imagine it could be a cool feature to add because some people might not want ALL of the sound go through the equalizer.
Breakaway is an amazing piece of software and I'll immediately buy it if this feature is added. Right now I'll stay on trial only 🙁
