Someone did find the cause of their problem for this in the stickied topic. They had multiple and/or wrong soundcard drivers installed for their on-board sound, and they simply removed the offending driver, from what I understand. You can try checking out what soundcard drivers you have installed, try updating those etc. It's also worth trying a different method to access the soundcard, but I can see why you'd want to stick with KS (Kernel Streaming) since the latency is much much lower than the other methods of accessing soundcard drivers.
