    Hello,

    Longtime user of all of Leif’s products and decided to start migrating to BA One. I see in the quick start guide that VMs aren’t supported, but most environments I would use BA in are that exact situation.

    Is this is a hard and fast rule that BreakawayOne won’t run on a VM?

    Leif simply doesn’t recommend VM and, if problems occur that can be traced to a VM environment, he will not attempt to fix them. However, there is nothing to stop you from trying BA1 in a VM. If it is successful, perhaps you can share your experiences?

    We run BA1 in a VM and its rock solid. However (we are using vmware esxi) you need recent (read last ~5 years) chipset and cpu to get all the IO stuff to work well.

    Thanks for the update, Megabyte.
    The fact still remains that any “bugs” reported may be as a result of the VM environment.
