Windows hangs when Breakaway closes

Hi.

I have installed Breakaway Broadcast on a P4 HT machine, running Windows XP Pro SP3.
I’ve just started testing. I’m using the internal soundcard at the moment, eventually we’ll be using a ESI Juli@ PCI soundcard and feeding a MPX signal directly to a FM Transmitter.

The machine can handle Breakaway perfectly. The sound is clear without dropouts.
Processor usage is between 20-30% so I expect the machine will be able to handle this quite well.

However, whenever I close Breakaway or go to the I/O configuration screen, Windows hangs and needs to be restarted! – I have configured the soundcard in KS mode.

When I configure the soundcard to run in WAVE mode this does not happen.

Does running in WAVE mode have any disadvantages?
