Hello to all
I have bought before a couple of days, breakaway dj for a cafe/bar use, in order to use it with "visual disco mix" software and i am facing a very strange problem and i really need your help here if anyone has any idea of it..
The program runs fine for 12 or more hours but after that and while its playing constantly it mutes the sound..(12 hours is not absolute some times it happens ealier but it never played more than 24hours constantly 🙁 )
Current Setup is :
Visual disco mix software’s — right deck –>pipeline 2
Visual disco mix software’s — left deck –>pipeline 1
(PS : Visual Disco mix software has also his own "dj keyboard" for using it with the software)Breakaway dj input 1+2 as pipeline 1+2 (default settings) –>output (Asio) –>ESI maya 44 usb (channels 1+2/3+4)
The issue is it justs mute the sound after some hours of use…
Thing i already tried :
=================I tried to shut down the BBP dj and restart but it still wont play sound..(BBP dj is not stuck when sound mutes..)
I tried to use very big letancy setting in maya (still no fix)
I created a .bat file to kill the software with taskkill /F switch and reboot it (still no fix)
I tried to reboot the visual disco mix software and bbp dj also (still nothing)
……………
It seems that a software is just muting the soundcard after some time, the only fix is to shutdown bbpdj, resetup the software with maya24 as output and not breakaway pipelines and it plays fine..
Then if i exit the program and resetup it with bbp pipeline and open bbp dj it plays again for some hours…I really dont know whats the issue, tried bbp dj on a pc and a laptop and they have the same problem with 2 soundcards (maya44, unfortunately i dont have any other soundcard to test with right now)
If i use visual disco mix solo with maya44 it can play for months without restart…
If someone has any idea please do tell..
Thank youOS : win xp sp3 (on both machines)
September 18, 2012 at 9:17 pm #13488MilkyKeymasterI can only compare with my own use of BADJ.
I also use XP SP3 on a desktop.
I run OtsAV software continuously with a mix of just audio and audio/video.
I have an M-audio 192 PCI card. So, the differences are the sound card/drivers and the playout software. Is it possible that you can play through the on-board sound? This might eliminate the card as the problem. Also, check to see if there are updated drivers for the Maya. If all that fails, it might be a problem with your playout software.

I have this soundcard and when Windows starts, the first time, I don’t have sound and this is the only solution for me for this problem.
See you!

@didac… Try the lastest drivers for maya and aslo make sure that the card is connected directly to root usb port and not usb hub… as i have found over net a lot of people has issues with this card if its not conected directly to usb root port…
@milky, i already have used bbp dj (my own licenced version of course with vdj & herculs console for hours with no issues at all.. ) so the problem here is i dont know if the problem is on software or this particular card…The card is connected (in this case) over a usb hub..(as there arent any free usb ports available…this pc has only 2 and the one is defected unfortunately), so after some investigation i have seen that the card when pc is restarted is named as usb audio device (NOT maya) and is running normaly…
But..
When the problem ocurs the card changes name to maya44.. And also the asio control panel of the card is not seeing the card… So its definitely a problem with the usb hub & the card…
If i find another pc to test it i will post back the results… (But i am pretty sure the problem will be solved if i connect the card over a root usb port..)
But of course it may be the software (visual disco mix) that’s causing the issue…Thanks again guyz for helping me…

I’m using the latest XP drivers from esi-audio.com and the soundcard is connected directly to the motherboard rear USB.
But, thanks for the advices!
