BBP Output level differences

    I am getting a large variation in the levels shown on my output meters at different times – yet the input levels are just a few dB different between left and right channels. The happens at different times – probably depending on the source audio but I cannot understand why such a large difference?

    Can anyone suggest a reason for this please?

    That is odd! My first thought is to go through your windows sound settings in control panel and just make sure all your items are balanced properly. Other than that… I’m certain someone here has more info.

    Quick question to help diagnose this: can you check and see if it happens at exactly the same point in a song each time? Or does it not happen at the same point the next time you play it.

    Thank yopu for your interest in this – This system is treaming live for a local radio station so it is difficult for me to have any control over the audio content that it carries but this seems to be happening most of the time now. I am starting to consider the possibility that this may be just a software issue because the actual level being delivered to the stream encoder connected to the (Breakaway Pipline) seems to be consistant between the two channels.

    I have checke dthe Control Panel settings and the balance controls all are set to centre where they exist. I have also turned off all un-used inputs to reduce the possibility of some sort of cancellation via loop back audio. I might reboot this system during a quite period and see if that clears the problem up. I will post back with the results.

    This is really weird because aside from one other preset, Oldies is what I use most often and have never had a problem with stereo output. The screen shot shows your right channel is hotter going in but significantly lower in the output. 😕 😕 😕
    I would re-boot and see if that helps. Also I’d love to hear your stream with speed at 32……I never run speed that slow on Oldies. Can you give me a link?
