I have an Internet radio station which uses Jazler SimplePack as the radio automation software, Breakaway Live, and Edcast installed on a Toshiba W7 laptop. I am having trouble with latency when using a Mic and listening real time from the computer’s audio out. It was suggested that I use an ASIO supported sound card so I purchased an inexpensive Behringer (U-CONTROL UCA202) USB card but have been unsuccessful in configuring this device with Breakaway Live. Any detailed configuration help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I can provide more details upon request.

    Cheers,
    Dan

That’s only a two channel device, and far as I know it also doesn’t support multi-client access on ASIO interface.

So you’ll have to route the soundcard output of the automation, into an outboard mixer which is where your microphone is also being pre-amplified and mixed with the automation output, and then run that into the input on your UCA202. Then Breakaway Live in ASIO mode working on the input and outputs of that, and the outputs of the UCA202 should be everything all-together processed, and if you’re able to tweak the buffer settings low enough on your system, you shouldn’t be able to hear any latency.

p.s. don’t forget to also set "low latency" mode in Breakaway Live, instead of "phase linear".

    Jesse,
Your instructions worked perfectly. Thank you!
