MemberHello!!
We’ve the chance to broadcast from a higher building to improve our coverage zone. That building is a little bit far from our studio so we’ll have to link the transmitter with the studio via IP (Internet DSL, the buildings are not in line of sight so a WiFi link will not work, won’t it?)
We’re running now with Breakaway in one PC connected directly to our FM Transmitter (which is in the roof of our studio’s house 😉 )
I’m thinking if it would be possible to let the Breakaway main processing (New York preset) in the studio, and then buy another PC with Breakway (with presets ¿¿¿Protection Clip 6dB, Protection Limit 12dB???) at our Tx site.
Would that work?
What about the loudness and sound quality? Would that be the same in case of "double" processing (NewYork + Protection) than the alone New York processing? Thanks!!!

Why??? Why not just keep the pc at the TX and use your STL unprocessed?December 20, 2011 at 6:20 am #12897JesseG

So, would it be possible to make an STL with processed audio and then, "re-process" that audio on the Transmitter?
Would it damage the audio so hard? Thanks!

KeymasterWhy not just remote into the PC at the TX and change BA there? Depending on the OS, there’s Remote Desktop (Windoz), VNC (just about any OS), Logmein/Teamviewer (Winners again). You could even do it with a phone app.
Would it damage the audio so hard?
Absolutely…If your sourcematerial (music) is stored in a compressed format and your STL is compressed as well (MP2, MP3, AAC, etc) don’t even consider doing it that way.
Like suggested, use Remote DesktoP or similar solutions.December 24, 2011 at 11:47 pm #12901rdr
