I hope someone can help me. I installed Breakaway LIVE and when it did not work, Breakaway ENHANCER on a laptop emachine running Windows Vista 7. The computer has a RealTek sound card that offers lots of advanced settings. I need someone to please post instructions for installing Breakaway on a Vista 7 machine. I tried everything and every setting but nothing seems to work. I can get audio routed through Breakaway by setting the input and output as pipeline 1 or 3 and it functions BUT I have absolutely no sound. If I route audio through the pipeline with Breakaway in and the RealTek card set as out — it either gives me a high pitched squel sound or says it can’t start the drivers and gives me no sound at all. Please help!

It said 7 — the owner says it’s Windows 7.Updated 9/10/11
I guess the fact that I got no responses reflects that everyone on this board knows what I should have known……Breakaway doesn’t work with Windows 7. πSeptember 11, 2011 at 4:00 pm #12580wouterMember

Is it Vista or 7? Separate OS’s??
That’s a lot of BS.
If you do not get your answer as quick as YOU want that is your problem. If you give us more specific and accurate info about your hardware and software maybe we can help you.
If you start with Vista 7 than people get confused, because it doesn’t exist.Do a search on this Forum and you find that Breakaway runs fine on Windows 7, included setup guide(s).

Dj Buik:
I did a search for "Windows 7" and after page 1 it will not let me go any further and says the search option isn’t working! As for my reply to my own post being BS, you are WRONG it is not such! πΏ I very much needed a quick response to my question because I needed Breakaway installed and working on a Windows 7 machine for a very important social event. I put the question up Friday night and imho, 24 hours in more than enough time to expect a reply. However, the event came and went and I wasn’t able to get Breakaway {any version} to work. I got one reply from timmy asking questions. Before jumping to conclusion and putting me down, please understand that more often than not, when a member posts a question that member needs a fast reply.

βLack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on mineβ
There is no need for angry eyes or ill willed comments. Based on the information originally posted there wasn’t a clear solution. More information is required and was requested. Additionally, I have Breakaway DJ and Breakaway Audio Enhancer working fine on two separate Windows 7 machines – but wasn’t available on such short notice to help you troubleshoot. Would you still like assistance in troubleshooting your installation? If so, just let me know.

If you have problems installing any version of Breakaway on a certain machine, then maybe there is something wrong with this machine.
This could be several reasons. You can not solve complicated computers problems in 24 hours, and you can not rely on the quick response from peoples on a forum.
Back to your problem.
Does this machine have some kind of firewall installed?
What version Breakaway Live are you installing? v0.90.96b is the latest version.
What error do you get?
What audio applications do you want to run?For a start you can download my setup guide here:
