    Hi,

I’ve been using Breakaway Audio Processor in trial mode for a couple of weeks now. I’m wondering what the ideal level should be to feed into it? Am I right in thinking that at -20dBFS reference level, peak should be at -12dBFS? This doesn’t seem to raise the input meter high enough to hit the ‘sweet spot’ so maybe -12 is too low?

I’m feeding the output of a broadcast audio mixer into the soundcard which is linked to Breakaway and it would be nice to know what level I should be aiming for.

    Many thanks.

As long as you’re not clipping into Breakaway, then the peaks should be as high as they are in the original recording, which varies depending on how dynamic the original is. You definitely should *not* be limiting the peaks before Breakaway.
