    it actually mentions some stack error if i look at the error reporting when it fails.

    Actually, now that the thread is open, it has reminded me that I have a similar problem. I f I re-boot my HP laptop, or (sleep or suspend) Breakaway DJ starts up automatically, but all Windows sounds are scratchy and horrible. I have to manually shut BADJ down and re-open it again before it clears up the sound. Tried re-installing, updating audio drivers etc, etc, but the problem has always been with me since the first day I installed a copy.

    And, while I’ve got your ear, mt XP Pro entertainment box won’t sleep without crashing BADJ. I used to sleep the PC overnight and use Wake Up On LAN to re-start it the following morning, but cannot do so now.

    If your Motherboard and (onboard) Ethernetcard suppports it, you can use WOL from a powered down situation.
    You do not need the sleep mode. Actually your powersupply needs support it too.
