What is the proper method to hook up BBP with its multiplex used to a stereo transmitter? Is it through the transmitter’s L/R audio inputs or thru its multiplex input jack? If the latter, then I would presume a y cable adapter would have to be used.

I think the BBP output (MPX) should go to the transmitters MPX input, alternatively you could rely (should be avoided anyway) on the transmitters possibly integrated stereo generator in case your PC hardware (soundcard!) does not support 192kHz samplerate, which is required for BBP to output stereo carrier.

DBB, it is the latter (multiplex input jack), and you should NOT use a Y-cable — when breakaway generates MPX output, it gives you the full stereo MPX on both sound card outputs, so use one and leave the other hanging.

OK, thanks for the pointer. And then judging from this illustration at http://www.claessonedwards.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=70&Itemid=87 a second sound card or the one built in on the motherboard is needed to provide L/R audio outputs to the L/R audio inputs on the transmitter. Right? If so, I hope the two audio sources don’t conflict with each other on the computer.

You don’t need to feed L/R and MPX at the same time!

Just MPX, and you’re on the air in full, glorious stereo.

The screen shot is just an example — if you WANT to have an L/R output for some other purpose, while also using MPX output, you certainly can.
