hi all,
because of my slow pc, i use breakaway live, now i want to know what kind of stereo coder i can use after it because we go on air for one weekend soon,
normaly we only making music on a webstream. but once we wanted to go at the fm, that’s why i am asking this, i use a basic soundcard, of soundmax in my intel pc.
mvg wouter.
ps: can maybe the next breakaway live version made for fm to? so you don’t need to buy a new pc for using a broadcast version of breakaway?

The next version of Breakaway live WAS made for FM, it was called Breakaway Broadcast..
If you only have a basic soundcard then you will need a hardware stereo encoder for this. There are many different kinds on the market ranging from <$50 for basic ones to >$1000 for top of the range ones. It really depands upon your needs (and your budget) which is best for you.
As you are only using Breakaway Live for your processing, if you want to avoid overdeviation/overshoots you will need a more advanced stereo encoder which has some kind of overdeviation limiting.Yorkie.
June 26, 2011 at 7:55 pm #12303wouterMemberwell i use breakaway live + the spl vitalizer plugin, but i asked this because we need to hire of use some one else his coder, so we get a coder that good for breakaway live;)
June 27, 2011 at 9:26 am #12304LeifKeymasterStereo coding is easy. The hard part is the preparation that has to be done to the audio BEFORE the stereo coder, namely pre-emphasis, clipping and bandwidth-limiting.
The Left/Right audio outputs of Breakaway Broadcast are NOT the same as the Left/Right audio outputs of Breakaway Live. The former is prepared for stereo encoding for FM broadcasting, the latter is not.
Breakaway Broadcast’s system requirements are not high, especially not now, 3 years after initial release! Save yourself the trouble and get a computer that can run it — Breakaway Live is the wrong product for what you’re trying to do.
Best regards,
