I’m running Breakaway Enhancer through Winamp and with a few plugins. An equalizer set at flat just so I can cut the highest and lowest bands, a neat one called Bad Buss Mojo that dials in a touch of non-linearity, and Somewhat Mono to mono the whole track out. After that, I’ve got Zenith at 75-70-65 with bass boosted to +10 and bass shape at -10 . Nothing, but nothing, in over a decade of using plugins from Octimax to Izotope Ozone has come this close to recreating the sound of my favorite local AM station from when I was a kid growing up.

The AGC is rock steady and there’s no yellow at all in the multiband readouts. It’s warm and sweet. Once I get some finished tracks up on my stream I’ll post a link here, as I’d like to get some opinions. I have just enough experience with hardware compressors to feel like a dirt-track stock car driver who’s just been handed the keys to a Formula One car.

Can someone out there give me a good critique of my sound? Current settings are being used
on an oldies format as follows:

    French Kiss

    Range 40
    Power 45
    Speed 45

    Station is at: http://www.live365.com/stations/5_mile_point?play=1

And if there’s anything that needs fixing, say so, please. I can take the criticism.
