Leif mentioned "this summer" when I talked with him last sunday. I need a BL licence besides my BBP, but I’m not sure whether to order now or wait for the new version… Does anybody know if an upgrade will be free?March 24, 2011 at 4:45 pm #12019GuntherMMember

Are we closer to a release date.Hurry,i’m having trouble sleeping:-) Thanks
Pity it was a little too far to drive to the Processing freak day, I wish I was there Sunday.Grtz
GMarch 25, 2011 at 12:53 pm #12020feelingMemberOff Topic: To Gunther: why do you stream your station at 88Khz (sample rate)?

Hmmm very strange indeed, we stream in AAC+ @96Khz normally and the server is saying the same > "Stream is up at 96 kbps"
Maybe CentovaCast was having problems earlier today? I don’t know to be honnest.Thx for noticing the issue 🙂
GMarch 25, 2011 at 7:37 pm #12022JesseGMemberIt is 96 kbps yes (data rate). But it is also 88.2 kHz too (sampling rate). They are not the same thing. 😉
You probably should be using 44.1kHz if you’re playing music that’s 44/48, since not everyone has soundcards that will play above 48kHz sampling rate, and also the codec isn’t optimized for your source content at all that way. Literally the whole SBR is completely unused.
So you want 96 kbps, 44.1 kHz. 😉

Whoops, I didn’t read the post properly it seems 😳
I’m not sure what is wrong, in edcast everything seems to be ok >>> screenshot
Maybe it’s time for a reboot of the system incl the shoutcast server.thanks guys 🙂
GMarch 25, 2011 at 8:13 pm #12024JesseGMemberDon’t use HE-AAC High. Just use regular HE-AAC. That’s the problem.

Problem fixed I hope, not sure why the settings were changed anyway.
Thanks again Jesse 🙂G
April 24, 2011 at 7:53 am #12026GuillouMemberHi GuntherM,
I can’t post a personal message to you.
I Would like to know which are your BBP settings for ARVFM, because it sounds good !April 24, 2011 at 9:59 am #12027GuntherMMember
Hi GuntherM,

very strange, I didn’t change the settings for the internal messages and e-mail.
Of course I want to share my airchain and settings. Before the signal (all .WAV) goes into my processing computer it pass an analog Neve 33609 leveler (wich you don’t hear and doesn’t reflect the sound)
Via breakaway pipeline 1 it goes into VSThost with SPL vitalizer mk2 plugin > and via pipeline2 to breakaway Broadcast the latest version. This is only used for the stream.Settings:
SPL Vitalizer: Click
Breakaway 1: Click I don’t use the stereo enhancer from BBP and I don’t use the phase scrambler.
Breakaway 2: Click here you see the settings for the plugins in BBP.Good luck tweaking 🙂

The analog leveler is in the chain because we have 3 airchains running here, the first is our ASIO BBP for FM broadcasting, the second is BBP for our stream and the thirth is a full analog Aphex chain for monitoring with 0 latency.
In my opinion the Neve is better than the one in BBP, the unit is just better to tweak.
It’s all about personal choice I guess, but i can assure you, that if I bypass the leveler you wouldn’t hear a single bit. That’s why it is a high end unit.I’m just a freak I guess 😆
April 25, 2011 at 3:59 am #12030JesseGMemberI have a great reason for why you CAN hear it, and it’s not because of the unit itself.
It’s because the Vitalizer is before breakaway, and it’s not a completely program dependent unit. The "excitation" is mainly driven by the actual signal level. Evening this out *does* improve the operation of Vitalizer (or anything effected like it is by varying input levels) greatly.
That’s why in future versions of Breakaway, the plan is to probably drop Winamp support for the plugins before Breakaway, and to definitely support VST plugins *between* the AGC and the multiband.

By the way…………….. the stream sounds great. 🙂 (when it’s available, which it is responding with ICY 401 right now)

Hi Jesse, thx for the clear explanation, it would be great to implement VST plugs into BBP. Looking forward to that feature.
Must say BBP surprises me most of the time in good sense, keep up the good work guys.Yeah you are right, for some reason the stream workstation decided to go in sleep mode, without it is programmed to do that. Computers, they sometimes has their own will.
Sorry for the off topic chit chat btw
