I love how Leif’s great product and great assistance from pros like JesseG have really set me on a path to stream quality greatness. I recently upgraded from Enhancer to Live and have been able to learn even more than I have in the past few years using BAE. More presets, settings and enhancements! What I’d like to do is open up a discussion that may have taken place in bits and pieces around the forum and put it all together. I will refer to my own setup and ask for advice. The items in the stickied "best for streaming" are a given here. I have the edcast mp3 settings and encoders setup to match those given. Here are my settings as they stand streaming from my Dell PowerEdge 830 running Win2k3 x64 R2 with all updates. I use winamp for playback and IMS for playlist generation (this could be an entire post on it’s own but not the focus I wish to bring here).
BALive:
Preset: Motor City

Bandwidth: Full

50 4 2 50 50Effects:
Atten: 3db
Bass-EFX: 4
PhaseRotator: OnEncoder: Edcast (latest from RadioRio)
Encoders:
MP3: 128kbps (with above mentioned tweaks)
AAC+: 64kbps
AAC+: 32kbpsAt this point, I like the sound. I will be honest in saying that I don’t have a super ear for the finer details of "quality". I’ve asked JesseG and several others to stream my station from time to time to give feedback. But I honestly cannot really listen and tell you if the preset and all the above suite of settings/effects create a balance of quality and a good, solid sound.
This is my request, given all the above, and knowing my setup is strictly for web streaming use, no FM/AM application at all (balance more toward quality and not so much loudness), can you please listen to my stream for a bit and then provide your advice to what you would change if it were your country music stream? I’m mostly concerned with my choices for effect plugins. I imagine some of those may be great for FM radio but may actually deteriorate "quality" on a stream.
After you all provide your thoughts, you may all then post your setups and this thread will be opened to further discussion.
Thanks in advance! I’m looking for some great ideas! My stream is linked in my signature, below.

I hope to hear some great advice and guidance!
I’ve made a few changes since this post:
now using Zenith with 0 final drive, 70 range, 60 power, 55 speed and +7 bass boost with 0 shape.
My effects are Attenuate 1db, phase rotator, impact/slam clunk-1 slam-2Zenith has always been good to me, well balanced EQ-wise and great transparency!
Thanks for your interest and I will certainly take a listen to your work!

Just listened to Louis’ webcast, very "in your face" processing. It works well for the style of music played – sounds very Top40 FM radio.
It would depend very much on my mood which station I’d tune into, both sound very tuned to their respective music and audience styles. Good job.
March 23, 2011 at 1:16 pm #11881timmywaParticipantThanks, Dr J.! I go back and forth on the bass. Sometimes it doesn’t sound like enough but then it sounds ok at another point.
I appreciate your comments though! And thanks for listening.

louis => louis , your sound is very processed but it’s not quiet too for a long period of listing .But i prefer more subtle sound. 😉
