For those still using VL with iTunes: iTunes 10.4 (just released) breaks compatibility with VL.
For those using VL with Audio Hijack Pro: Don’t update to version 2.9.13, because it also breaks support for VL.
It looks like the end of VL is finally in sight when I need a new Mac. 🙁
i’ve tested BAE on Windows and BAE is the produce which help you to forget Volume logic very fast
The only problem is that the BAE developper seems not to be very ambitious 🙁July 22, 2011 at 2:50 pm #4331yugenroMemberOK, I’ve been using VolumeLogic, too, for seven years, and after upgrading to Lion and iTunes 10.4, it no longer is recognized by iTunes… I am so bummed. There is– and has never been a computer audio enhancer that equals VL…

So, I’m here joining the chorus of voices calling for a Mac version of Breakaway! Please Claesson Edwards! I will purchase your software, I will promote your software on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, Google Plus, my blogs, to my friends, family, and fellow humans– I will help beta-test a Mac version, … whatever it takes! Please help us Mac music lovers!
</begging>July 22, 2011 at 5:23 pm #4332godzfireMemberGuys, in addition to posting here in the hope Claesson sees us, I also suggest contacting him directly. While I couldn’t find a direct e-mail link for him, I did find a link to what appears to be a fellow employee or webmaster here: http://www.claessonedwards.com/index.ph … Itemid=132.

July 22, 2011 at 7:49 pm #4333JesseGMemberHe reads everything that’s posted here, eventually. 🙂 He has been working VERY hard on all things related to all of his products, for over a year now. Just because there isn’t a new update every 2 weeks doesn’t mean otherwise.
Actually the work he’s been doing is so that he can continue to keep up with his many different products (from 3 companies, plus licensing), and still be able to do Breakaway at all. And he has succeeded. 🙂
There is definitely support for OSX coming, and it’s already been setup to work with 5.1 surround since a couple years ago. SO having that built into OSX now is a perfect match.
July 22, 2011 at 8:30 pm #4334yugenroMemberThanks to both godzfire and JesseG for the followup. I’ve just composed and sent an email to Keith Edwards, here:

Hello Mr. Edwards,
I would like to express my interest in a version of Breakaway for the Mac. I have been a longtime user/appreciator of VolumeLogic, even thru having to manually complete rather complex workarounds to get it to work with iTunes for the last four years. There is no other audio enhancer that comes *close* to the beautiful magic VolumeLogic does for my iTunes music.
I would love to help out in any way possible, from purchasing a Mac version, to testing out alpha or beta builds, to promoting on my various online and realworld networks. I really believe in VolumeLogic, and from what I am seeing/reading/hearing about Breakaway, I am sure I will be immediately sold on it as well.
Thank you for your time,

I generally like Lion and iTunes 10.4 in 64bit does seem to be faster. But boy howdy do I miss Volume Logic.
I’m so sad that it has come to this.
I was a user of Volume Logic for Mac iTunes and I missed it long time ago.
I’m looking forward to use it again in the iTunes on the Lion Mac soon!!
i tested volume logic 1.3.2L (last version) in itunes on mac OS X Lion.
VL works until iTunes 10.3.2
VL doesn’t work in iTunes 10.5 beta 😥I hope Claesson Edwards will one day listen to our wishes 🙄
Volume Logic Is not BROKEN! its still working at the background (if u choose iTunes32bit mode) . just stupid iTunes Is not allowing us to see its window, Here is the solution,
In user library, in preferences find "com.octiv.VolumeLogic.plist" open it with text edit
and change this value<key>WindowOpen</key>
<false/>TO
<key>WindowOpen</key>
<true/>Start iTunes In 32bit mode, u gonna see VLs window. but if u have a habit like me to close this window you have to change this value many times in a hour 😛P

mad_Angel, you are DA MAN!!! Works like a charm! Now I *LOVE* Mac OSX Lion!
Just for the record, I’d installed the Bongiovi DPSplugin iTunes plugin (http://www.dpsplugin.com/) when I learned VL wasn’t working, then upgraded to the new iTunes 10.5 beta60 to see if that would help. It didn’t. In fact, the Bongiovi plugin disappears in b60. But using mad_Angel’s preference hack works to make the Bongiovi plugin window appear so its settings can be worked, too.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU mad_angel 😀 😀 😀
your solution works perfectly in iTunes 10.4 and 10.5 beta 4 (b60) in Snow Leopard 10.6.8 !
i think that lots of people using VL would give a lot to know this solutionJuly 23, 2011 at 9:24 pm #4338fabricepsbMember
He reads everything that’s posted here, eventually. 🙂 He has been working VERY hard on all things related to all of his products, for over a year now. thank you for these very interesting informations 😀July 23, 2011 at 10:19 pm #4339godzfireMemberLeif replied here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2071
Anyone a Mac programmer or knows one?

EXCELLENT find Mad_Angel! Now I can continue to use the most current version of iTunes in Snow Leopard as well.
One suggestion to make this easier as well: Create an alias to the "com.octiv.VolumeLogic.plist" prefs file and store it where it’s easily accessible. That makes turning on and off VL much faster and easier if you don’t use it all the time.
PS – I bet someone could easily create a Script that does this too. Any takers?

Yes, THAT is the real question– can we find a Mac programmer that Leif can trust, who can take on this project? It seems like it shouldn’t be that hard– we know that VolumeLogic still works in Lion, with the latest version of iTunes (I’m running 10.5 beta4 or 6 or whatever the latest one is). All that’d need to happen is for the installer app to place the files in the right places, and for that prefs file to be modified. Well, that is, besides somehow enabling users to show/hide the VL GUI window from within iTunes (the functionality lost in Lion).July 26, 2011 at 11:51 am #4342AnonymousGuestcome on 🙂 it is nothing , i just wanted to use it in lion like all of you, and i realized that 10.6.8 with itunes 32bit when im changing volume bar on itunes volume was just not changing:) volume logic take cares of volume. i love this plugin.
July 26, 2011 at 12:03 pm #4343AnonymousGuestmad_Angel & JesseG: This is from both great news! I really hope a trustworthy developer comes forward. (maybe for IOS as well?)
I have one question regarding automatically starting up iTunes 10.4 in 32-mode: Is that posssible with Snow Leopard? After every Mac-reboot iTunes goes back to 64-mode. And, because my mac/Awaken/iTunes wake me up every morning, a missing VL is a VERY bad start of the day! 😉
For the moment i stay with iTunes 10.3.x until this is solved.btw: For years discontinued and still SO much admired; the developer surely will experience an enormous ego-boost reading this thread, regardless what his plans are. 😀

yes i prefer that they(Octiv) shares VolumeLogics codes , so someone can change it to 64 bit. but Octivs site is down, it looks like they are done with everything. 🙁 sad
