A happy New Year all and here’s hoping for an OSX version of Breakaway!
April 20, 2011 at 6:56 am #4316AnonymousGuestSo I assumed too much, Jesse? Just like I said a long time ago: It aint gonna happen. I gave up on this.
April 20, 2011 at 9:58 am #4317JesseGMemberIt might just be a matter of waiting for things to be possible to be released for the public. If there was anything working on OSX, there are reasons that I wouldn’t say that it was possible… like for instance… begging like crazy.
Not saying that anyone is begging, not at all, but I also haven’t told anyone that anything is working on OSX yet. 😉
Don’t give up on your hopes, is what I am saying. 8)
April 20, 2011 at 10:43 am #4318AnonymousGuestIf you say: "Not saying that anyone is begging", then don’t talk about "begging like crazy" in the same post, that’s just silly! I’ve been very constructive on this thread by giving people a way to use ‘your’ abandoned VL-plugin to work with iTunes. So I say to you with all respect: stop this "begging"-nonsense if people only show their appreciation for the VL-plugin.
April 21, 2011 at 5:25 am #4319JesseGMemberI specifically said that I’m not saying that anyone is begging, so that someone wouldn’t take what I said previously as what I was insinuating. Some people take things the wrong way, so I wanted to be extra clear and make sure you understand that I’m not saying anyone is begging. (and you maybe misunderstood that)
About 6 months ago someone was complaining that there wasn’t an update coming out every 2 weeks basically, and actually wanted a refund because of it. So I’m addressing people at the other spectrum here, not you or anyone else specifically, Jippie46. I applaud you for wanting to help the community, and encourage you to submit more stuff if you are inspired to do so. 8) Some people are not as patient, and I would hate for them to be turned off about there not being a version for OSX after this amount of time.
It IS something that has had some very decent effort put into it. Unfortunately I can’t talk about it, but people shouldn’t get their hopes up about it. That’s mainly why nothing has been said about it, because we don’t want people to get their hopes up, and to be let down by their own impatience. I’m not condemning anyone for being "impatient" either. I have ADD myself, so I’m far from perfect in that category. 😉
June 19, 2011 at 11:49 pm #4320godzfireMemberSo really hasn’t been any news OSX wise in the 2 months since my last post. Please get us some information.
June 28, 2011 at 6:52 pm #4321fabricepsbMemberhello
i’m using volume logic with iTunes 10.3.1 on Snow Leopard. everything is okBut i tested Volume Logic on Mac OS Lion and iTunes 10.5 beta and unfortunately VL plugin doesn’t work 😕
I hope Breakaway audio enhancer will work one day on mac. I tested Breakaway audio enhancer on windows (Bootcamp) and i was very impressed 😮
Mac OS X needs good software like Breakaway audio enhancerJuly 3, 2011 at 9:36 pm #4322fabricepsbMemberis there anyone here to answer my question ?
July 5, 2011 at 8:21 pm #4323eeblackMemberI would like to add my voice to the chorus of former VL users who are still looking for a replacement on Mac. I have just downloaded the Windows plugin and find that it is exactly what I have been looking for. Please bring it to Mac OS X! I would be more than willing to promote it wherever I could (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
As a suggestion, it would also be great if there were an iOS App available for enhancing the audio wherever I go. I suspect it would be a very profitable venture for you to pursue this.
Best regards,
UPDATE: I’m finding that as long as I’m doing nothing but listening to music, the plugin works fine. If I even move my mouse or attempt to multitask, I get a bunch of static and pops – not acceptable! I have adjusted the settings to increase the buffering size to as large as possible, but it still happens. Other than a lousy (none) graphics card, this laptop seems more than fast enough.

I was a user of Volume Logic for Mac iTunes and I missed it long time ago.
I’m looking forward to use it again in the iTunes on the Lion Mac soon!!July 13, 2011 at 3:51 am #4325JesseGMember[quote author=”eeblack”]I’m finding that as long as I’m doing nothing but listening to music, the plugin works fine. Make sure you have installed the latest GPU drivers from Intel, and reboot. Then in Breakaway settings….
Make sure "Adaptive SRC" is enabled.
Try playing around with the number of buffers also, and sometimes certain smaller buffer sizes work better than larger ones.
Try switching "Audio Realtime Priority" to the opposite of what it is now. Some things to start with. 🙂

i tested volume logic 1.3.2L (last version) in itunes on mac OS X Lion.
VL works until iTunes 10.3.2
VL doesn’t work in iTunes 10.5 beta 😥I hope Claesson Edwards will one day listen to our wishes 🙄
July 20, 2011 at 4:04 pm #4327AnonymousGuestFor those still using VL with iTunes: iTunes 10.4 (just released) breaks compatibility with VL.
For those using VL with Audio Hijack Pro: Don’t update to version 2.9.13, because it also breaks support for VL.
It looks like the end of VL is finally in sight when I need a new Mac. 🙁July 20, 2011 at 7:33 pm #4328fabricepsbMemberwhy isn’t there an itunes version of BAE while itunes is more popular than Windows media player ?
July 21, 2011 at 3:10 am #4329AnonymousGuestI’ve been so spoiled by Volume Logic over the last 7 years.
I generally like Lion and iTunes 10.4 in 64bit does seem to be faster. But boy howdy do I miss Volume Logic.
I’m so sad that it has come to this.
