    Nice suggestions CiXel !

Leif, testing the demo 0.90.82 this time try to find the L/R PEQ settings….
Is it on the plan for the final release?

Very useful for add some trebles at the output of BBP 😉

Challenger gives you many choises to create a unique sound..
    Really great job Leif!!!

Just for separate pre-emphasis settings Lief.
Should be nice at the upcoming release of BBP to have the option on each output of BBP for a pre-emphasis selection/adjustment.

I think with this way camclone using one instanse of BBP and with the same settings on it will get better treble at the stream as the main use of BBP here is for FM boradcasting.

Sure, this is not a solution if the sound comes in distortion on pre-emphasis state.

Camclone, now it’s better now but you still need more treble on your webstream.
Your sound is full with bass and the treble seems like muted from 8K and above.
Bass comes distrored when tracks with ultra-low bass (below 60Hz) is onair.

I had smilar problem and the solution was to decrease the "Bass Cut" between -6 to -10
with the "bass shape" at -20.
This will increase also your overall volume and BBP will keep your bass clean from distrotion.

Ahhh…this time I hear a song from a popular greek artist (mazonakis) at 12:00.
The bass is extremely distotion at 60hz and without treble…sorry man but your stream seems
    like 32kbps at 32000Khz !
The ITU meter shows a very loud sound that comes from….bass 😕

I think the best way for your FM transmition and webstream is a second instance of BBP.
I can’t hear your FM sound here but I think could be easy to keep the same good results at the
same time for FM and webstream.

The same happent also without any stereo enhancing/stereo expander, with all plugins disabled or not and
with any level combination between BBP input/Output.

If you add more "power" from BBP settings you’ll get more distrotion…. Leif? 🙄
With "power" under and close to 50 I think that I can hear it…without screaming! 😆

Good night to all of you!

Leif, I’m sorry for the hard work you have to do but this song is a "nighmare" for me everytime that I hear it on my stream!
One solution is to remove it  but me and our listener ask for this.
Another solution is to edit the track…but why not try to do BBP better 😉

My Greek friend camclone, last year I was at Heraklion 5 times!
So I deside to go somewhere else for vacations but these also gone for 2009 😥

For streaming I use 15?s pre-emphasis as Leif suggest.
    And my favorite preset, Zenith.
I think it’s the best one for this type of music as Chill,Lounge,Downtempos but even for electronic music.

    Take Care,
    G.

Last time in Heraklion I’m sure that I hear the loudest radio in Greece 😉
But, for the webstream I have to agree with Leif. You need more treble!

After weeks and couple of months using BBP I feel very lucky that I found this site, forum
and ofcourse this amazing software audio processor!

Leif, only one issue that can’t see a solution….
There is a song "Blank & Jones with Delerium – Fallen".
It’s impossible to keep a good loudness and output volume without distrotion at the low-low mid freq in the intro…
The distrotion comes from BBP even with 12db attenuator and also with the output at -5db.
And, if you add more "power" to the BBP…more distrotion at the bass 😥 only at this song.
The bass, mid-bass isn’t so "clear" if you listen the track without BBP but with BBP the bass is on distrotion.

I send the track (half) to check and try if you can.

I think that the problem appears after the RTA 0.62 version for both of my computers (one with BBP the other for streaming).
But for the pc with BBP I’ve also to suspect remote desktop and vnc.

    Strange combination don’t you think?

I was on vacations for 10days without "touching" remotely the pc with BBP…. no clicks for 10 days!!!
When came back click appears 2 days later after using BBP pc with remote desktop and vnc.
Reboot and everything is ok…until next time.

I still use RTA and remote desktop/vnc applications on both computers for better investigation.
I did the same configuration on the iMac to do everything but without remote desktop/vnc.

BBP labs working hard this weekend…

I know excactly what you mean…
Emu0404 didn’t dissapear the problem but it’s much better than Esi Juli@.

The "clicks" are pure digital (also I use spdif optical connection between two cards) and they produced
after BBP as I can monitor the sound before BBP input.
At this state (BBP input) sound is without "clicks".

This days I found the time to play with an iMac (XP) and test the BBP for these reason
    without soundcards.
iMac do everything (playlist software,BBP,streaming) with only 11% cpu load and with the default services running.
Until this time (2 days system running) no clicks….

Riplee just some questions to see if we have something common on this issue:

-Are you using remote desktop or other remote desktop applications on the BBP pc?
-Did you try to run BBP minimized?
-Did you run at the same time RTA software to monitoring BBP input or output?

Stevenaj, this is general a nice idea and prroject byt at the past I did also this "experiement" and I have to
    agree with Lief…

VM machines isn’t for audio, even for virtual audio cards.

    Virtual is always….virtual !

I had the same experience with Riplee with BBP version 0.90.69 that still use.
Sometimes the "clicks" heard as vinul sound and on my system happent when
I’ve change emu0404 with an Esi Juli@ and then to 48000.
44100 in I/O and card option solves the problem but do not disappear it…

Next days I will update BBP to the last one and I will change back to emu0404.
From my experience with BBP last 5 months, Esi Juli@ sounds a bit better on high freq. but
emu0404 was very stable and have great software.

    Hi DjSmooth,

You don’t need a second audio card to do this. You can use just one card to for a pc as Audio Processing unit.

A "BBP Device" hear to me as the perfect solution!
A small device with a touch screen or with arrows/buttons to navigate in the menus…
I think with Linux in the backround should be very stable.

Hey Leif, as the development team working currently on Mac platform I believe that is the
correct timing for a Unix base implementation 😉

    Hi Leif !!

after drinking a lot of ouzo under the Greek sun very close to the sea today, I hope that I can write a "clear" post 🙄 !!!

I bought this pc (D10) for a specific reason and this was not for HTPC.
I agree with you that the specs of this pc are only for a low-end HTPC (you can order the SPDIF/OUT extension for the board) and have dual view but for the reason that I and think all we want is a very good solution.

I was very close to buy a hardware processor (not an expensive brand/series) but when tryed BBP for a week
I was so impress from the results and I decide to "build" a pc specific for BBP.
One pc for each job 😉

With an SSD the system is very stable, quiet and easy managed without keyabord/mouse.
But I think also that with this CPU and with so low CPU usage as you see on the pics, we can use the same pc as a complete processor/streaming pc (with BBP&RTA + 2x128kbps streams wma/mp3 and 1x 32-64kbps AAC+stream) the max. CPU will be at 35% !

Another plan should be a Radio Automation+Audio processing pc with the BBP in the backround and the Radio Automation
software in the frond (don’t forget the touch panel 😉 )

Ok, I’m not a reseller of Shuttle, this is my side of view and maybe help anyone.

As Xonar support ASIO, I’m one of them that I waiting for the next release…!!

    Auto-Level-Balancing input plug-in?
    It’s time for work Leif..
Leave the words and "burn" the keyboard!!

Thank you for one more time for this amazing application and for the great support !!

    George

D10 main use is for HTPC with dual view and for this you need a good VGA PCIe x1.

The bad think is that the only internal upgrade you can do is to use the one and only PCIe x1 slot
for a VGA (if you wish to use D10 as HTPC) or to add a sound card in my case.

A problem for me was to select between internal or external (usb) soundcard…and you have right, the only soundcard
that also know for PCIe X1 is the Asus Xonar D2.
I have a very good experience with the Xonar (PCI version) card as I use it at my daily PC almost 2 years now.
This is not a pro audio card but have very good specifications, clear and crisp sound and supports 192K.

D10 works 2 months now (without any shutdown/restart yet) as a "hardware" version of BBP processor.
Xonar D2 takes the audio signal via S/PDIF IN from the audio mixer and after BBP processing goes out from the same
audio card using the S/PDIF OUT.
The analog output of Xonar is connected back to the audio mixer for preview/monitoring while the digital S/PDIF out is connected to the streaming pc that use an E-mu 0404 PCI.

D10 has connected only power cable, S/PDIF In/Out cables and everything can adjusted from the touch screen!

…A small, "state of the art box" that creates a unique sound 😀

[edit] L/R output panning: to balance the difference that stereo expanders sometimes create..
