    OK…  Got it to work under Win7 64 bit.  Not sure if I could do this again though.  I uninstalled the broken V1.40.02 installation from the control panel and checked for Breakaway pipeline driver to be uninstalled in the Device Manager.  It was not visible, without a reboot, possibly because it wasn't actually installed.  I then did a repeat install, and was going to check the install log but found I can't seem to find the log since the installer leaves you with a new screen and a "Finish" button.  This time I tried to run the program (without a restart from the installation) and got a different error.

    Error starting audio engine:
    DSoundManager::Initialize failed: 88780078

    Clicking "OK" and the settings screen for Breakaway came up.  This was a good sign but the configuration was somewhat confused.  I was able to configure Breakaway and close the settings page, and Breakaway came up.  Yay!  Then I realized that it had old settings for the presets, volume, range, and so on…  I then realized that my original INI file must have been still on the machine (possibly a source of the problem).  I think I was lucky that the original INI didn't stop Breakaway overall this time.

    Check the path "C:\Users\<username here>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)" for any "Breakaway" folders and I'd suggest copying this (if you need values from the previous INI) and then delete the folder in this path before attempting an install.  Remember the "AppData" directory is hidden.

    I'm going to try an install on another Win7 64 machine (hopefully one with no previous installation).

    My "Breakaway Pipeline Default Device" says the device is working properly and its version is 4.15.0.7317 on 2/5/2016.  So it seems the pipeline is installed.  The Breakaway executable is not seeing it.  vaclcskd.sys is not digitally signed (though I don't think that should be an issue for Win7).

    Has anyone been able to install V1.40.02 on Windows 7?  I had V1.30.02 working just fine and would like to install the latest but as reported in this thread I only get "Unable to open the Breakaway Pipeline audio transport driver."  I tried Jonas' installation tips of removing all old Breakaway components via the Device Manager and then uninstalling the Breakaway application.  Nothing was showing in the Device Manager or on the hard drive after restart.  V1.40.02 still fails.
