I need setting BBP for radio station, please tell me what preset is good? include setting challenger stereo enhancer.
Thank for your suggestion.Regards,

Source file is very important. Whenever possible I use .WAV uncompressed files.
Since most radio listening is done in a vehicle during commute or in an office setting with smaller speakers, I would start with the "oldies" preset using the following:
Range 90
Power 45
Speed 15
Bass 12
Bass Shape 45If that isn’t your "flavor" try the "new york" preset and lower the bass to 10 and up the shape to 47.
I actually tweaked to get a good sound FIRST before I ever set and turned on Challenger. It’s an enhancement and a nice one, but if you’re not running clean audio to start with it causes some weird effects.
Again, I don’t stream or use the software for broadcasting. I use it for my home setup and for DJ gigs so others might be able to better suggest settings for broadcasting.
cheers and good luck!

Are you looking for settings that work well with BBP or LIVE or both? Processing is so subjective and allot of users here love Plutonium. With that being said, I have much better luck with "oldies" and "new york" and I’m playing with Rustonium because of the crispy clean mids it seems to offer that even "new york" can’t achieve. "Oldies" to me at least, is the most balanced preset for "hearing all the music."
I am a home audio file and have recently starting doing some live DJ gigs, but I do not stream. I have both Breakaway Enhancer and Breakaway LIVE. Others can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think which product you are using (BBP or LIVE) will have an impact on the sound you can achieve. As for enhancer, JesseG has a recommended max settings on this forum (you’ll just have to search for it) and I set it up on LIVE using his max recommendation and haven’t touched it again no matter which preset I use. 😀kes11MemberThis is awesome sound!! Wish I could afford a 9! 😥

That’s a lot of BS.
If you do not get your answer as quick as YOU want that is your problem. If you give us more specific and accurate info about your hardware and software maybe we can help you.
If you start with Vista 7 than people get confused, because it doesn’t exist.Do a search on this Forum and you find that Breakaway runs fine on Windows 7, included setup guide(s).
Dj Buik:
I did a search for "Windows 7" and after page 1 it will not let me go any further and says the search option isn’t working! As for my reply to my own post being BS, you are WRONG it is not such! 👿 I very much needed a quick response to my question because I needed Breakaway installed and working on a Windows 7 machine for a very important social event. I put the question up Friday night and imho, 24 hours in more than enough time to expect a reply. However, the event came and went and I wasn’t able to get Breakaway {any version} to work. I got one reply from timmy asking questions. Before jumping to conclusion and putting me down, please understand that more often than not, when a member posts a question that member needs a fast reply.
kes11Member
Is it Vista or 7? Separate OS’s??
It said 7 — the owner says it’s Windows 7.Updated 9/10/11
I guess the fact that I got no responses reflects that everyone on this board knows what I should have known……Breakaway doesn’t work with Windows 7. 🙄kes11MemberFM mode in BAE is pretty self explanatory, or at least imho, it is. I used it for about 8 months before finally stepped up to LIVE and never looked back! 😀
kes11MemberAudio:
Here is my basic settings I use with the "Oldies" preset. If you would like the rest just let me know. I’ll stick them on here for you.Hope this helps!
btw: These settings work well IMHO with Helix and Reference Heavy.
kes11MemberHi Audio! Unfortunately I’m at work right now and don’t have breakaway on this computer (only because corporate won’t allow any software installed unless they do it) and I can’t recall. When I get home I’ll screen shot my settings and stick them on here for you. Are you using the enhancer or the parametric EQ?
Also: IMHO the "Rock" preset isn’t ideal. 🙂
kes11MemberIs all your inputs at the digital standard -10?
If so, adding Gain dB in the effects will raise your signal before it hits the processing in Breakaway LIVE and cause what I call "colorful" distortion. Mostly, your bass will be all over the place because it’s over modulating the input. Trust me when I say I’ve tried all sorts of different set ups before arriving at my current one, but now imho I have "the sound" and it mimics very well the Omnia 6s by our nearby corporate FMs. 😀
Have your tried using the attenuator plugins? They go in front of everything else in your plugs. I use the -3 db attenuator with the bass efx plugin at 4 and impact/clunk at 1 and 2 along with phase rotation. Also it’s important to make sure the "EQ headroom" is backed down far enough to prevent overload. Mine is backed down to 18.75 dBFS. Perhaps you can try these things with the "OLDIES" preset and see what you think? I will say that if you are running any other setup besides "REFERENCE HEAVY" or "HELIX" then you will have to make major adjustments. For instance, these settings are much to extreme for "PLUTONIUM" and actually distort.
Maybe these won’t help but if they do then Idc to share my settings with you because I do not care about competition because I don’t yet stream but use LIVE for my home entertainment system. I have LIVE installed on my main desktop and ENHANCER on the 2 laptops but because I am so pleased with LIVE when the new versions come out I plan to buy it for all three machines!
Good luck my friend!
kes11MemberOh. Call me stupid! 😳 😳 😳
Well know I realize that the problems I’ve complained of are directly related to my lack of understanding when working with the speaker settings in LIVE. Is there a user manual, link or perhaps even a quick lesson on how those work? Is it possible to recommend a few settings? If I can get a decent preset then I can roll with refining it to get the sound I want. 🙂
kes11MemberI’m new to this forum and my answer might not work but I had noise problems out of Breakaway LIVE and I finally traced it down. Mine had two problems. One was my eq was to high and wide on the 5k – 8k range. The other was my range setting at 80 was causing noise pump up. Turned all of the above down, and narrowed the bandwidths from 3.54 to 3.00 and it has been running flawlessly ever since!
