Three days ago, Breakaway just stopped working. I have done everything that has been suggested here for the problem. It’s driving me nuts and frankly, making me think I may have wasted $29.95. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing piece of software when it works. But right now it’s just sitting there mocking me, as it were. Any advice that can get me up and running would be great as my internet stream sounds horrible without it.
5 Mile PointMemberThere’s no "best" setting, but for internet streaming, French Kiss works well with settings of Power 50, Range 45 and Speed 50, Bass Boost +5 and Bass Shape -5. I’ve had several people compliment me on my station’s sound with those settings. Your format makes a difference, I would never use French Kiss on classical music, for instance. My advice to you is to take time and read as many older posts as you can as there’s a lot of useful information and helpful hints. One thing I can tell you right now is this: the less you alter your music before Breakaway, the better it will sound. VST effects and such can be nice but consider them as a seasoning you want to use very, very lightly.
5 Mile PointMemberDefinitely not a Breakaway issue. I had some other things go totally weird on me as well after a Windows update so I rolled everything back three days then took just the critical updates and everything is fine.
5 Mile PointMemberThis has just happened to me as well. All sound on my computer is gone and I’m not sure if it’s a Breakaway issue or something wrong with my sound card.
5 Mile PointMemberNever mind, I figured out a trick on how to do it.
5 Mile PointMemberCan someone out there give me a good critique of my sound? Current settings are being used
on an oldies format as follows:French Kiss
Range 40
Power 45
Speed 45Station is at: http://www.live365.com/stations/5_mile_point?play=1
And if there’s anything that needs fixing, say so, please. I can take the criticism.
